This review is about the staff, not the jeweler
If you need any repairs done on your jewelry, speak to the jeweler directly!
I just drove 30 minutes for nothing! Thinking I would be able to speak to the jeweler on my arrival
As soon as I got there, I was told that the jeweler was not there and that he left for the day. Prior to starting my journey to Del Haven, I called to let someone know I would be coming in. The lady I spoke to didn't have enough curtousy to tell me that the jeweler would be leaving soon. I specifically told her "I am leaving now. I will see you all soon" (I arrived at 4:30ish and they close at 7pm) I had even told her that I was looking to have it done today and she suggested that I speak to the jeweler
When I arrived, I spoke to a man that I assumed was the jeweler. I told him what I needed and he began to examine my ring and gemstone. Then he told me that the jeweler would be in tomorrow. I told him that I had JUST called to let another staff know that I would be coming in to have a stone set. He said "ok". And that was all he said. Just "ok". Like.... What's your point? I know the man wasn't the one to mislead me on the jewelers presence, but an apology would have gone a long way as he is someone that is representing Del Haven. He instead continued to look over my jewelry and even put the stone in the mounting to see if it fit (I assume)
I thought to myself "if you are not a jeweler.... Why are you fooling with a $800 loose gemstone to see if it fits?! Kindly put the gemstone back and say that the jeweler is not in today"
I felt like this man only cared about my jewelry and had even asked what my gemstone was bc he had never seen one like I had before. He complimented me on my gem as well. Which I appreciated, but I felt like he only cared about my jewelry and not the fact that I wasted a trip up there and wasnt informed that the jeweler would not be there to speak too. I also told him that I did not live very close. But still, he didn't seem concerned that I was angry
I am sure the jeweler does beautiful work. As Del Haven was highly recommended to me. But the staff ruined my FIRST time experience. I will not...
Read moreAll I can say is WOW!!! What an unbelievable experience I had working with the Del Haven team. Big thanks to Francis and Neil for helping me create the most perfect, custom ring for my now Fiancé, Nicole. It was everything and more she ever dreamed of. They went OVER and BEYOND our expectations!
YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!!
The Del Haven team helped me get an engagement ring 1 week prior to my destination proposal...
I made the mistake of going to another jeweler at first. When I picked up the ring, something seemed "off". There was no paperwork (which I was promised), and the way they looked at me just felt weird/suspicious. Talk about a gut wrenching feeling walking out of a jewelry store, after you've just spent a pile of money and you don't know if you got exactly what you paid for...
I called my Mother to tell her about the interaction and she (quite literally) scolded me for not going to Del Haven. So, I took it there to get a second opinion, and my gut was right –– it wasn't the diamond I was led to believe I bought. Del Haven showed me side by side examples of what I should have got, and gave me an education on clarity, cut, color, fluorescents....everything. I think I could pass a GIA exam for how much they taught me lol.
Fortunately, with the help of Del Haven, I was able to get a full refund on the original ring. But the bigger issue was I was on a time crunch. I had one week before my destination proposal and my soon to be Fiancé had a specific kind of ring in mind.
You want to talk about HONEST and FAIR? Del Haven had all of the leverage in the world and could've taken full advantage of me knowing I was desperate. Not Francis and Neal. CLASS ACTS! They got the ring to be as close as possible to what she wanted (so we could get our pictures), and they promised when we got back, they would make it EXACTLY how she wanted it. And they did just that. I can not thank them enough for all of their help, support, honesty, integrity and fairness during the entire process.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AS YOUR JEWELER OF CHOICE. IT DOESN'T GET BETTER...
Read moreI would no longer recommend going to Del Haven Jewelers. I have been a loyal customer for quite a few years- with the same exact ring!!! Multiple times they have repaired the SAME diamond from coming out. I paid for every one. Without issue. The last time I was in the gentleman who helped was kind enough to not make me pay again for the replacement of the same diamond because it had been so many times in such a short period of time. I asked at that time to have it resized. Was told $75 to pay and have it resized. I had it done and paid. Fast forward another few months the ring is broken in half. I have been so careful with this ring because I cannot afford to lose the stone again I take it off when doing anything including washing my hands and it has not even been 6 months and it is snapped in half. So I bring it in today and they tell me they only cover for 30 days of their work, makes a lot more sense why they only value their work enough to cover it for 39 days- I have been lucky to get it past 3 months most times without their previous work failing. That’s beside the point. They talk to each other behind the counter and say “I wonder why she wasn’t told to get a half shank the first time.” Then come to me and tell me “I can solder it but it will break again you need a half shank to prevent it from happening.” I said “why wasn’t I offered that the first time?” At this point I should just go somewhere else!! So the man says to me, “what did you pay, $75 for the resize?” The he throws up his hands and says “well then fine go somewhere else”. Yes, yes I did I’m glad to you $75 is a throw away but it’s not to me I save up to have this ring fixed, MULTIPLE TIMES THE SAME REPAIR AT YOUR COMPANY” it is my great grandmothers and important to me- so you offer crap jobs so you can have us come back in a few months to pay again and/or pay for a higher priced repair!!!! Absolute scam and rip off and they have made it very clear they don’t care about their loyal customers. Open to any and all suggestions for reputable, fair jewelers who have pride inn...
