Dropped off our neighbor's riding mower on Monday to get the carb cleaned, and four days later, job is still not done and no call from anyone at Pickett's. When I called them to find out what was up with the carb job, Philip informed me he was too busy "cutting pallets" and "unloading a truck" to get to our mower. So, while Philip is busy working on anything BUT our neighbor's mower, the 70 year old widow is out in full Florida sun, cutting her grass with a push mower. UPDATE - Today, Saturday I went to pick up our neighbor's mower at Pickett's and of course, the final bill for a $45 carb job is.... $122.45!!!!! Since the owner Kevin wasn't around, there was no disputing the bill if I wanted the mower today. So I paid the bill, gave the PAID receipt to the mechanic, Mike who was very nice and quick to load (ride & drive) the mower in the back of my truck. Only problem is, he loaded the wrong mower, never checked work tickets and now, my 70 year old neighbor has someone else's mower, and Pickett's wants to charge HER $75.00 to drop off her mower, and pick the wrong one up... What a mess! UPDATE - Sunday, after I shared our neighbor's address and her phone number, so they could schedule the delivery and pick-up, two members of the fine crew at Pickett's showed up unannounced with the mower, and parked outside her gate for hours waiting for her to answer her phone. Later, Kevin (the manager at Pickett's) showed up accompanied by police. Eventually, our neighbor walked out her front door and she finally got her mower back. Praise God!!! But wait! There's more! When the fine mechanics from Pickett's tried to start the mower they were supposed to fix, the pile didn't even START!!!!! So, the fine mechanics from Pickett's had to push the mower 400 feet back to their truck and load the junker up on the trailer... LOL God is soooooo good right?! I quit going to Pickett's years ago because of a similar bait & switch, and I was hopeful they could do this carb job right. Sadly, I was wrong. It's no wonder there's seldom anyone there, you have to be some kind of glutton for exploitation to spend your hard earned money here... To him who has an ear,...
Read moreIn our constantly changing world it is so GREAT to experience a business which over my entire life has had the reputation of Quality, Friendliness and Neighborhood supportiveness to the working class through their employee expertise in advising and sometimes "step by step training" of the "DIY' customers who were and are still MANY with reasonable prices without being a "big box" atmosphere where customer care has dwindled to such a present day mess in most areas where people are expected to be shopper & cashier and then endure security lines to prove you are not a shoplifter 😳. ACE HARDWARE continues to bring such great customer service through their employees, quality of merchandise & variety with affordable pricing!👍. Thank You!! I had a bit of an emergency event one hour before close this past Sunday and because of medical issues needed to get extra set of keys made so a neighbor could take care of my pet as I was advised to get to the Emergency Room by my doctor. I called ACE & they provided everything immediately for me to literally pull up to their door and they sent a person to the car and expedited my purchase and went "beyond" to make sure I was taken care of 🤝. I just can't say enough about this place 🙌 Everyone, please shop your Neighborhood ACE HARDWARE STORES first so to keep this going!!! Great Job Pickett's ACE HARDWARE your employees did...
Read moreI bought a wet-vac online, paid, all I had to do was pick it up. Called the store, spoke with Ashley, was very polite to her, asked about curbside pickup, she said no problem, call when I get there. I arrive, promptly call again, I get Ashley again, politely tell her I’m there, and where I’m parked, no problem, be right out. 30 minutes later, after I have counted 27 vehicles, that come and go in that time, I call again, little miffed, I then get a gentleman who listens to me and says oh, no problem, 20 seconds later Ashley shows up and apologizes, saying that she had to help 3 customers. This just pisses me off more, because I am a customer too guys, and I was there BEFORE the 27 other customers that you took care of. If you are going to promote curbside, don’t make people wait 30 minutes and then say you were helping other people. I’m an other people too, and I paid upfront and called twice to let you know I was coming. I drove 20 minutes to get there, I could have chosen any of a dozen places that were closer but I chose you. It was also my first experience with your store, and you only get to make a first impression once. Everyone I dealt with was very nice, but my overall experience was awful. I will never order from you guys again. Not just the store, but...
