Really great Park for nice evening walks there is a walking trail beside two slow flowing springs that have spray fountains in the center and between them is a engineered Island walk out with a full rotunda and extra benches for sitting.... I think the lights stay on to 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. during the shortest time of the year and possibly a bit later for the summer months so that they're actually lighting up the darkness... There is also the recent upgrading of the adding in of the further completion of an excellent biking trail that will connect all the biking trails in Brooksville all the way out route 50 to the Sun coast parkway bike trail... There will also be a very nice bike shop here at the edge of Brooksville just passed the park that you'll be able to stop at and no doubt very soon will have some more and more coffee shops too this is going to be really big this part of the bike trail will go through the picturesque Brooksville and it will even have a full bridge that crosses over a busier part of the road... Riding over the bridges on a bike trail always spices up the ride a bit 🥳🥳🥳🥳 personally I have a sun easy HD Delta trike... And I've kidded it out with really good LED lighting and I'm installing carrier racks on it it will make a perfect medium range riding steed capable of doing a full grocery trip in one shuttle... I'll look forward to seeing you all out there on the bike trail in Brooksville in the coming months...

The park that was there was a large wooden structure it needed minimal work but was worth saving there was also a smaller structure that looked like a boat for smaller kids it was big enough for me to play with my grandsons and it was completely fences in so we could sit on a bench and watch the kids play if I wasn't playing with them they closed the park abruptly without notifying anyone literally we played there one afternoon went back the next day it was gone my husband contacted the powers that be and they said it was only going to be closed about a week a month later they said they hadn't done anything because they hadn't received the equipment yet. Four months later they have play equipment there maybe a quarter of the size the other structure was and nothing really good for smaller children like the ship was and all of the fencing has been taken down all the playground equipment is right up close to the road so even if your watching the kids there's always the possibility of a person grabbing a child or a car hitting someone needless to say I'm very disappointed with what the town has done it would have been easier to have someone come in and do the maintenance the old structure needed replace a few boards sand and stain it once a year it would have been much better than...

We went there when we first moved here and loved the wooden playground. There’s been quite a few changes, such as replacing the wooden playground with a metal, more modern play structure. They recently added a splash pad. The fences of the playground are missing gates, which I think is important given the amount of young children running around beside a parking lot. The splash pad is a great addition, the only suggestion would be less chemicals in the water, as there’s so many it creates a thick foam at the bottom of the splash pad. It’s a great park overall, and we love the trail that you can walk along toward the back...

🎃🐾 Hi friends! It’s me, Halo! I was so excited to be invited by the City of Brooksville to be part of a special video all about their pumpkin patch at Tom Varn Park! 🍂 I even got to hang out with my buddy Jordan while exploring all the pumpkins. 🧡🐶 It was such a paw-some day full of smiles, fall fun, and wagging tails! #PumpkinPatch #CityOfBrooksville #HaloTheTourismDog #FallVibes #FloridaAdventureCoast

I would’ve given this park a 5 star… but unfortunately Tom Varn Park doesn’t look the same anymore. The older pictures with the wooden playground has been torn down. I literally almost cried when I went back. My son and I aren’t a fan of the new playground. It’s extremely small and it’s lost it’s nostalgic look/feel. 😢 However, it does still have the pavilion that you can have parties at. The volleyball & basketball courts are still there. As well as the baseball field.

This is an awesome place to take kids to play or to go exercise, walk or run that and it's a bit of nostalgia because I grew up playing here coming here on the weekends or during the summer and I couldn't tell you how many birthday parties that my family has had here just a nice place to enjoy nature and just play let your inner child out to play and just enjoy the youth because they are the future and at the end of the day it's family over everything
