Do not use Hometown decking for a large job of a poured concrete patio or acid concrete staining. The owner Mike K does not stand by the workmanship of the 3rd party contractors he uses to do this particular job
If his “ project manager” Jay gives you a quote please research yourself to ask additional questions that you as a customer would not think of —-before choosing them. When they poured my concrete they should have said the finish on my patio makes it a bad texture to acid stain! This was told to me after decorative concrete companies came to inspect and give me a new quote after no reply from Hometown Decking owner for a redo by an experienced person or a refund
Obviously the project manager just answered yes for the sale, so we ended up having multiple issues from the pergola repair to the cement pour to a distasteful most horrible acid concrete stain job! Mike does not communicate well when it comes to issues against his work or his 3rd part contractors people but got offended with my complaints ( via email and text communication) Just because you respond or have your secretary respond to appease us still doesn’t mean you rectified the situation. By some of your responses you never really read the emails.
Mike holds no accountability for sloppy work, no apologies for sending an inexperienced laborer to do the concrete staining as a last step for our $6400 project. The worker he sent out had no direction, not enough equipment didn’t tape the sides of my house and very hard to speak to due to language barrier.
After the owner Mike was informed the hour after the guy left.. later that night he passively aggressively tells me ( via email) that me as the customer was being rude, had complaints each time something was done and the infamous statement of “I’ve been doing this for 20 years”. Well Mike at Hometown Decking...in my scenario those years of qualifications are a joke because in this industry you should not be proud of the work you allowed to be left on my new 450 sq ft concrete patio with no refund or an apology for the inconvenience.
His concrete staining pics on the reviews are not from the guy who stained my patio! I asked for that guy after you sent the same guy out the 2nd time to fix his mistakes. You are never to important to not put the customer first and to inspect the work somebody is doing under your name. No rebuttal is necessary and will not be validated. This company failed me as customer

Read moreI had a platform deck built in my backyard by Hometown Decking in April 2015 and was very satisfied with the entire process. I initially went with them because of the positive reviews that they have received online, along with their quote for the job being much more competitive than two other more well-known companies from whom I also received a quote. Mike was very personable and knowledgeable during the initial consultation, giving me the pros and cons of the different options I was considering without necessarily pressuring me into a specific decision. And when the time came to build the deck, Mike and his crew were on time, did the job well, and did it within the amount of time they had estimated it would be done. Maybe just as impressive to me was the fact that after the job was initially completed, I contacted Mike to request a couple of minor adjustments be made to the deck. Hometown Decking made the adjustments in a very timely manner and without any additional cost. I was very happy to see how this wasn't a situation where the company had my money and was basically done with me, but instead worked with me to ensure my complete satisfaction. Overall, I was very happy with the entire process and would not hesitate to recommend...
Read moreI highly recommend Hometown Decking. Our deck is amazing!
Jay did a great job managing the project. He accurately bid out, designed, scheduled and ordered all the materials.
Their expert craftsmen constructed our large multi-level deck on a steep slope. This was not an easy project. Raunel and his crew were the best! Raunel can build anything and easily handled any minor changes we made. It's not just a job for these guys. They do excellent work and really care about the quality of the finished product.
After watching the process, I realize how important it is to hire an experienced deck builder. All of the framing work was excellent. The footings, support posts, beams, joists, ledger boards and framing hardware exceeded my expectations. Passing all inspections was a breeze. They don't cut corners and built us a strong deck that will last.
They also have many choices for the look of the deck. We went with TimberTech composite decking using hidden fasteners, horizontal steel railings with cedar posts, and cedar skirting. We love the look!
The price was very reasonable, and an absolute bargain considering the quality of work and materials.
You can't go wrong with...
