This is probably my favorite taco place when it comes to the size and the taste. I did want to voice my opinion openly as I don’t feel like in the moment it would have been understood and maybe I’m still wrong but it doesn’t sit well with me.
I don’t feel like under any circumstance even if you are wrong should an owner or manager walk up to a customer mid bite to explain your rules and how you are breaking them.
For two years I come about 2 out 4 Sundays and buy tacos for my three kids, my wife and maybe some people for my church. I usually get it to go and leave or I usually sit and eat.
The plan was to eat where we came from but we walked pretty far and I regretted saying to go so we blooped a spot. 25 empty tables and one old couple in the corner who I see probably every time I come. Very sweet.
The manager comes to tell me it cost them more money to wrap it in foil and bag it so next time to tell them we are staying. I tried to explain it was a one off but instead of hearing me she just explains again to do it next time… well if I’m the same situation I might not.
The cost difference isn’t that much, sure it can add up but I didn’t rip them off and I tipped the nice cashier
We all know these a pricey tacos but we make the exception because they taste great a usually has amazing service. Even the young man who gave me the bag was nice.
I feel like this conversation could have been said after we finished eating or maybe even next time in line “like hey we make a bit more profit if you let us use plates” sure, I am not upset about you trying to squeeze all the money you can. I don’t know how well your business is going but I know that isn’t on me as a burden.
I would have just ate the cost vs trying to argue with someone while they ate.
Like how much did you really lose? I could have ate outside (which we did, we left because of how awkward it was with our half ate food) let’s pretend I cost you 50 cents for the foil and the bag this one time.
I think you coming at me in front of my kids like that and being confrontational while I’m eating cost you $50 minimum a month because I really don’t wanna...
Read moreI have been there many times in the past. I have always had good service. I generally get the same thing and it’s always good. I haven’t been in a while and decided to go there this morning. It was cold and raining out. Went inside without thinking I brought in my coffee cup. After ordering they informed me no outside drinks. I totally understood. I apologized and closed my cup lid and slid it over next to the napkin container on the table. A staff person who I assume to be the owner told me I had to go take the coffee cup out of the restaurant and put it in my car. It was pouring raining outside. She then said “she didn’t want other customers to walk in and see my cup sitting on the table and think “they” were allowed to bring drinks in the restaurant. I in no way expected to have any special privileges with my coffee cup. I would have dumped out the remainder of my coffee as to be in compliance with the “no outside food and drink”. But to be told my cup couldn’t remain in the restaurant and I had to go out in the pouring rain to put my cup back in my car was ridiculous. There were many other options I was willing to do to be in compliance with the restaurants rules. I run a business and that is pour customer service. I asked for a refund and left the establishment. Definitely was not as good...
Read moreI have been here probably a hundred times in the past five years since I moved to Austin. I always order the huevos rancheros but today I came in order the same thing, was given a tiny tiny bowl of ranchero sauce and it wasn't enough to even cover my eggs so I asked for another side of ranchero sauce. I told the lady it was I was not given enough and she argued with me and told me that was the same amount they always give. I wasn't going to sit there and argue with her over ranchero sauce but being a customer for years I knew this wasn't the case and she was just being really ugly and rude to me. I wasn't even able to eat my food because there was no sauce to cover it with. I'm so confused I used to come here to eat all the time and they were very sweet not sure what this change of attitude is about. My boyfriend ordered a bacon egg and cheese taco and received a sausage egg and cheese taco. We didn't have time to wait for them to correct the order or to beg for more ranchero sauce so we left without eating. Very very disappointed. I think if you're going to charge $10 for a little huevos rancheros plate you should at least provide enough ranchero sauce to cover the eggs. I'm not a picky person and I used to love this place but I definitely won't be back again. Horrible...
