From the first time we visited Manchaca United Methodist Church (MUMC), we felt welcome and “included”. The Senior Pastor has so much experience to share and the Associate Pastors are young and energetic. ALL of the sermons and Bible Studies are valuable no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. This church not only talks the talk, but it walks the walk. There is care for the needs of the congregation and many ministries that reach out into the community. Ministries such as supporting the students at Akins High School who are currently experiencing homelessness. There is a college tour to help them realize that they really can go to college; and even more help so they too can have a normal high school experience. There is a food pantry for needy families in the community; there is a backpack ministry to help insure there are not students at Menchaca Elementary that go hungry over the weekends; MUMC partners with Austin Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for a deserving family that does not want a hand out, but a hand up.
