I started visiting this place several years ago. I like it. Quiet and quaint, and the food is good. We arrived at our niece’s house in Manchaca on the 30th. Visited Aranda’s the morning of the 31st. Pancake plate breakfast with two pancakes, two eggs sunny side up, two bacon slices, and two round sausages. Ate again at Arana’s on the morning of the 2nd. Same Pancake breakfast and yes they are delicious pancakes very chewy and very good. Went to pay. Wow some one had paid for my breakfast. The cashier said that a local church group had done it. Thank you my friends. Well I visited again on the morning of the 3rd. Same Pancake breakfast and yes the pancakes again were delicious. I’m heading south to the Rio Grande Valley tomorrow so I’ll have wait for more pancakes until we visit again. I’ve only eaten breakfast here but by the way the cook makes the food I imagine that their lunch and dinner plates are equally excellent. The place looks small from outside but I really like their food snd service. Take a chance I’m certain...
Read moreIt wasn’t great and I love authentic taqueria food. It was delivery so I can’t speak to the ambiance or service, which I understand are good from the other reviews, but the meat was very salty and had little other spice to it, nor did the sauces or rice and beans. Tortillas seemed stale and store bought.
We tried a fajita beef torta, Al pastor tacos, guisada taco, a fajita beef gordita and rice and beans. The pastor had only salt taste, not much hint of pineapple or achiote or guajillo. The guisada was also pretty bland. It might as well not have had any sauce because it had little flavor. The fajita beef gordita was pretty greasy and the beef inside it and the torta was ok but I wouldn’t go out of my way to order it again. Rice and beans were ok, still a little bland.
Overall, I know I’m being harsh but there are so many great taquerias in the area, I’m not sure I’ll ever order from here again. I can get salty bland meat and weak sauce at any...
Read moreWe accidentally found this place while making a u-turn in the parking lot to go somewhere else to eat... But we decided to stop in, and we are glad we did. This place has potential.
They got our order wrong (forgot my bacon on 2 tacos) and I could have used 1 more coffee refill but overall the food was great, the setting was nice, and we will be back to give the service another chance to wow us.
It was a Saturday, I'm not sure if that's why they had a guy singing on the small stage and walking around the tables. He was entertaining nonetheless with a fun music assortment.
Has a good amount of parking up front and it's right off of Manchaca...
