Our business website was contacted by someone using an alias who told us that we won our local “Best of Blue Ridge Award.” Their web link was designed to mimic the local Best of Blue Ridge awards. Also, the timing was perfect because the awards were just about to be announced. Well the joke was on us. When the real awards were announced, we realized that the local newspaper had nothing to do with these people. How do I know that Buena Park Plaque and Trophy makes plaques for this person? After we paid for the award with our credit card, we received a UPS shipping link from netTrophy aka Buena Park Plaque and Trophy. When I called Buena Park Plaque and Trophy for information, I was told that they “only make the plaques” and would provide me with nothing more then an email address for this individual.
