Beware Green AirâInept, Incompetent, and Not BBB Accredited! I strongly encourage others to not use Green Air and endure the tribulations that I experienced. My experience with Green Air (who recently purchased a few local HVAC companies) was extremely unsatisfactory, stressful, and unprofessional. I had a new AC unit installed on May 7th, 2024 and did not have a fully functioning unit until June 29th, 2024. During those 8 weeks, I made 24 calls to Green Air, experienced 12 service house calls, and took 8 days off of work to accommodate the technicians. Throughout my experience, I was blatantly lied to and ignored by the technicians, the staff, and the manager, leaving my house with no functioning AC during the summer. The root cause of my malfunctioning AC unit was a leak, caused by the negligence of Green Air staff during the initial installation. Green Air installed parts that did not align with my AC unit, and, in doing so, also melted a valve. This ultimately caused all of the unitâs refrigerant to leak out within the matter of 3-5 days. Throughout ten subsequent service calls made by Green Air, not one of the multiple technicians thought to check the valve. It was only during the final service call, which happened to be the first call where the service manager (Adam) finally decided to get involved, that the valve was inspected. When I asked the manager why this was not checked over the course of the 8 weeks, knowing full well there was a documented leak, he told me that he does not have an answer. One of the technicians, Slawomir, (who told me on four separate occasions that he had âfixedâ the issue) scoffed at the idea that he should have tested the valve. In a previous conversation when I asked if I could get verification that the original unit was installed correctly, pressure tested, and followed procedure, I received a âNo Commentâ from Slawomir which I found extremely unprofessional, completely disrespectful, and very telling of the type of service I was getting. During this complete mismanagement by Green Air, I had an incident where I was promised on the phone by the staff, Jennifer, that a technician could perform the necessary work to fix the issue even when I inquired if they could perform the work while it was raining. I was ensured by Jennifer that she spoke directly to the technician and weather would not be an issue. The next day, the technician showed up to my home and told me he could not perform the necessary work due to the weather and told me that no one spoke to him and I will once again be without a working AC unit for an entire weekend, in hot and humid weather. This incident proved to me that Green Air was actively lying to me and providing false information. At this time, the service manager, Adam, was extremely reluctant to provide any help and assistance in solving my issues, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. He did not believe my problem was worth his time until after 8 weeks of his company wasting thousands of dollars in filling up refrigerant that was constantly leaking out. Adam constantly told me that I should be the one to call back regarding updates that they were supposedly looking into, as if it was my job to find solutions and manage them. He then promised me a restaurant gift card for my troublesâŚ.which I have yet to receive. It is evident that Green Air is not a well-run organization. I have personally witnessed the company scheduling their technicians all across the Chicagoland area, causing them have to drive 1-2 hours in between appointments, which led to technicians being late and unavailable to appointments. It is also notable that Green Air is not accredited by the BBB. They claim to be, according to a seal printed on a folder provided to me, and in a sticker placed on my AC unit; however, upon researching the BBB website, this accreditation is false. Based on the gross incompetence by Green Air, it is obvious that they do not care about their clientsâ well-being or their own...
Read moreWas really encouraged by reading about the reviews for Green Air until I experienced them for myself.
I booked a duct deep cleaning for a Saturday from 2-5pm. I got a call the Wednesday before asking if I would be willing to do Thursday instead. I appreciated the check-in but couldn't make it work. No big deal, and very considerate of them calling to check.
Then comes Saturday morning. I have a separate appointment in the morning that ends at noon, where I'm getting harassed by nonstop calls from a 224 number, and no one leaving a voicemail. I finally get a second to call back and it's Green Air asking if I want to move my appointment up from 2pm to 11am as they had someone cancel. In fact, the tech was already at my house ringing my doorbell multiple times 3 hours before my scheduled appointment. I told the person that I couldn't make it work as I was not at home at the time, and again, was reassured that my appointment later that day from 2-5pm was still fine.
I got home at 1pm and waited until 5:45pm. I waited till around 4pm to finally give them a call to see if anyone was coming. I think they use some sort of remote customer support service as the person I talked to had no answers and said I would get a call back. I called again at 4:40pm, same experience. No answers for me but this time a different person told me she'll mark it as urgent so someone can call me back. 5pm comes and goes, nothing. I waited until 5:45 just in case they were running late as I just wanted to get this done and couldn't set aside another weekend to do it. Nothing. I call again to notify them that no one ever showed up and got the same reply from yet another person: "I will have someone call you back."
The Monday after I finally get a call saying they didn't show up because the appointment prior to mine "had an emergency."
What a waste of a day. Asking me to move my appointment up 3 hours while at my house is unprofessional. Not getting an answer or at least a heads up that they will need to reschedule/cancel for that day is...
Read moreI had an issue with a musty smell coming from my HVAC ductwork. I wasnât sure of the source, so, I thought it best to find out if it was being caused by something serious. To do that, I needed to have the system inspected. I contacted Green Air Care; they have the capability to insert a camera through the ductwork system and assses any issues, cracks, etc⌠I set an appointment, and Hector was out the next day to do the inspection. He did a very thorough job, and determined there were no foundation cracks, water leaks, or breaks in the actual ductwork that would allow water to enter the system. That definitely offered me peace of mind, knowing the integrity of the ductwork was in tact.
He also checked for condensation problems, and inspected the HVAC unit. Each step of the way he took photos, and showed me what he was finding whenever possible. During the inspection, he did identify the source of the problem, as well as another area of concern. He took the time to show me what happened, explain his findings/conclusions, along with the photos taken (esp. areas I didnât get a good look at already, that were better seen with the camera), and answer my questions.
He prepared several different options for addressing the issues, and once I made a decision, he came out to fix the issue. He was just as thorough doing the work, as he was with the evaluation and estimate.
Hector was prompt, his work was high quality, and completed in a timely manner, with no surprises. He was courteous, friendly and professional. I wouldnât hesitate to use Green Air Care, or Hector again if needed. Everyone I have interacted with at Green Air Care has been helpful, knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Additionally, if you have questions, and need to reach out to a field professional, I have found the response time to be exceptional.
Excellent...
