I had to change my original review after how rudely my daughter and I were treated by nail tech, Tom. I had been a regular at the salon for over a year with Tom as my nail tech and was pleased with his services. However a couple of weeks ago, at of the worse times of my life after finding out my father had passed; I made appointments for myself and my daughter (who would come with me for occasionally) for a gel mani and pedicure. This time I gave her my appointment with Tom because she needed a new set since the last place she went didn’t do a good job while I got a pedicure. Yet my daughters’ gel mani never happened because Tom started her nails after she picked a color then refused to complete the job. Soon after he started she came back to tell me he walked away and to the back. She further explained that he told her to go back to the place where she got them done originally after she told him he didn’t remove all of the old acrylic before starting a new. I was livid that he would talk his clients daughter, a young person like this or any client for that matter. I asked him what the issue was and he said I needed to speak with Jennifer, the owner. I went straight to Jennifer, explained the situation. She looked at my daughters nails and was as shocked as I was. She suggested two other techs to do her nails and apologized for Tom’s bad behavior but didn’t address the matter with him for an explanation. By this time my daughter was so upset as was I and we just paid for my service and left. The owner told me she was going to call me later to make this right as she knows in a regular and this was completely unacceptable but never did. It’s sad to think I wasted time and very good tips on a nail tech that was so rude and nasty.Fortunately we found a much better and accommodating shop that did an excellent job on her nails afterwards but the whole drama are Luxe was unnecessary. I will never go there again or refer anyone to them or Tom as I had done in the past , as the customer service...
Read moreI’ve always believed the owner (JEN) of this business is amazing and truly cares about her customers. However, some of the staff—especially Jay—need a serious reality check. Jay’s unprofessional behavior and the way he speaks to customers could easily cost this business a lot of loyal clients. The things that come out of his mouth are completely inappropriate for someone representing a professional establishment.
Customers are required to pay for their services, not for tips. Tips are earned and should be given voluntarily, not demanded. It’s uncomfortable and off-putting to be pressured or made to feel guilty about tipping, especially when some people may only have enough to cover the cost of their service.
I also want to address Tom. Please remember that customers are the reason this business exists. Acting as though you’re above the clientele is disrespectful and unprofessional. While your craft is good, your attitude and the way you treat others need major improvement. Additionally, the cleanliness of the salon should be a top priority. Tools and instruments must be properly sanitized between clients to prevent the spread of infection or disease.
This business has great potential, and the owner clearly has a good heart and vision. But unless some of the staff learn to treat customers with respect and maintain higher standards of hygiene, the reputation of the business could suffer. I truly hope these issues are addressed soon, because this place could be amazing with the...
Read moreI got my dip done on July 3 by July 5th half of them had broken. I had family and a birthday that weekend and had no time to go back to get them fixed. Today, I left work early because they looked terrible. I walked in and started to tell the manger and she stopped me and asked me who had done them. I told her and she told me she would be over to fix them. She asked me about the color and I told her I wouldn’t mind the same color as long as the same thing didn’t happen. They admitted she had applied the dip too thin and that’s why it broke. She said let’s change the color and do a new set. I agreed thinking “wow she’s really trying to make good on this. Maybe I will come back to her”. She finishes asked me if I liked them and I said yes. Then she says I’ll give you a $10 discount. “I’m paying for this!?” She said you normally pay $35 not $25. I tried to keep my cool. Put I raised my voice and said so let me get this straight I come in here on the 1st to do my nails leave you a $10 tip and 4 days later my tip starts chipping and breaking and I’m paying you? You wasted my time having to come back here. Then she said she’s going to just charge me $10 for the polish change. YOU SUGGESTED THE POLISH CHANGE! I paid the $10 to get in with my life but I’m...
