Besserys Butcher Shoppe — Local services in Burlington

Food is mediocre, though I do believe they have some sandwiches and burgers that aren't bad. The main issue is that every staff member I've spoken to here is either completely neutral-- "civil", or just flat and sometimes outright rude. I called to place a pickup order for a sandwich and fries 30 minutes before they closed and the phone rang out. I called 7 minutes later, they finally pick up and then tell me they aren't taking orders. I tried to ask if I could come in-store to place an order but they hung up on me... called back figuring it was a mistake, they pick up the phone and go "no we're not taking orders at all we're cleaning up right now". Excellent. Business avoids taking my money, hangs up on me in the interest of closing early. I may understand if I called 30 seconds before they close but I quite literally called with 30 minutes to spare and was ignored and then rudely denied. If I walk in 5-10 minutes before you close asking for a single sandwich I expect you to make the dang sandwich and then just pack up shop....

They definitely have a great selection of meats to order from , their meat 🥩 bundles are at a fair price , however my buddy ordered us both a couple of burgers 🍔 with fries 🍟 and the burgers 🍔 were absolutely incredibly HORRIBLE , they were wayyyyyy over cooked and dry , almost rubbery in fact , and they supposedly forgot one of our fries 🍟, witch from what I’ve heard is nothing new with these guys.... And they don’t carry the best beer in my opinion Twisted teas what’s that all about LOL 😂.... so with that being said, if you want some INCREDIBLY OUTSTANDING FRESH MEATS I’d say Bessery’s is the place to go , but If you want some ABSOLUTE OUTSTANDING Burgers 🍔 and fries 🍟 basically anything grilled , and deep fried or cooked up to order Then THE SHOPPING BAG ON NORTH STREET IS THE ONLY PLACE TO ORDER , that and they actually have ice cold...

I’ve had good experiences at Bessery’s in the past, but not today. It took an hour for my order a salad with chicken, fries, and two corn dogs. I had called it in. I specifically substituted sweet potato fries, but when I picked up my food I got regular fries instead. I walked back inside and let her know what had happened.

The owner’s daughter was yelling at the kitchen staff about taking my order, then told me they would “just refund the amount” because “they don’t do that.” If you own a business, you find a way to make it right... especially for a returning customer. I said well I still want those fries. She charged me the remaining amount ontop of the upcharge I was already charged and then made them. I’ve been in food service for years, and this is not the way to keep customers...
