I went to Moni Electronics because of all his good reviews. I dropped off my Denon Home Theater Amplifier the first week of July, 2020 and was told that the symptoms (turning off as soon as it powered up) were common and the repair would probably be minor. I paid the $59 "look at it fee," and was told I would get a call once he knew what was wrong. Never heard back. Went in a week later, and was told it would be done the following day. Never heard back. Went back a few days later, and was told it was a simple short that was now fixed but he needed me to bring in my remote so he could confirm it. Brought that in within a half hour, and was told it would be ready later that day. Never heard back. Came back a couple days later, and was told there was "something wrong with it." He took me to the back area where he had it on his desk and showed me that he couldn't get any volume out of it. He indicated that it "must be a circuit board" and that he would have to order it. I'm guessing that either he, or his son, who was probably ten years old and sitting at the workbench playing with things did something to short circuit it. I'm all for teaching children the business at a young age, but not playing with other peoples electronics. He told me it would probably be $200 to replace the board. I told him to go ahead, even though I could buy a totally new unit for probably $600, and he said he would order it, and it would be in in about a week, and he would finish it right up. It is now October, and I've never heard from him again. So, I'm out the $59, my $600 unit that I really think he did something to damage, and I'm sure I'll never see it again. Now I understand why his whole shop is just backed, practically floor to ceiling, with the carcasses of TVs, speakers, and stereos that were never picked up. Fortunately I found my old home theater amplifier and hooked it up, which is why I haven't bothered to...
Read moreWe wanted to restore my parents home 1974 Pioneer stereo sound system. After "Googling" in Ventura, CA, Sounds Good in Camarllo, CA looked to be an option. David answered the phone, and said we recommend Moni at Moni's Electronics. We called Moni, he called us right back. Yes he works on Vintage systems! Read Yelp and Angie reviews, pure GOLD! Dropped off our Vintage system, Moni charges a 59.00 inspection fee which is applied to the repair if you authorize. 3 business days later, Moni called us and told us, the tuner had a short and the speakers had loose connections. Keep in mind VINTAGE 46 year old system. Quoted us a very reasonable fee to repair, and we picked up our vintage sound system the next day. Moni, was professional, knowledgeable, and had praise for the Vintage Pioneer system from back in the day. Finding out now Vintage is a THING! Moni helped me load up the heavy and large speakers in my truck. Set up the like new system and BOOM back in high school, nostalgia HIGH! Pete Townshend's "You Better Bet" was first song up OTA on the tuner. Volume at 50%, closed my eyes and could have been front row center.......................WORTH IT! Now the turntable, needs to be "tuned up" we want to play some "Licorice Pizza" Next month, for my birthday taking our Vintage turntable to Moni. He has 36 years of experience and 20 min. from our house. Magnitude of gratitude thanks so much Moni! Fortunate to have you and your skills near by. See you in July.

Read moreI thought to share my experience and perceptions of Moni's Electronics.
I told Moni about my purchase of a pre and power amplifier - and also shared with him that I was advised not to use Deoxit on the pots. Moni 's voice sounded quite indignant as he demanded to know who told this to me, and stated he has 37 years experience. I calmly stated that my comment was not to degrade his expertise, but that Bobby Hovland, ex of Hovland Audio and Hovland Capacitors had made the claim, as he is working on an identical unit for me.
I already was aware that the preamp was not working, so I asked what work Moni would perform for the $59 that he charges. Moni was indignant. He started speaking louder and talking faster, with more than a little attitude in his voice. He stated that it was very simple, implying that I could not comprehend what Moni was telling me.
I shared with Moni that I found his tone and comments offensive and that I would take my business elsewhere.
If you want to be insulted by an arrogant audio repairman who knows everything about anything, then Moni is your...
