I was really disappointed with my experience at the Pottery Barn Outlet in Camarillo today. I saw their Instagram post advertising “40% off” for Easter and rushed over, driving almost an hour to get there early and be one of the first 60 people in line. Their Google listing and even their Instagram account both said they open at 10 AM, so I planned accordingly. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I found out they weren’t opening until 11 AM due to Easter hours something that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Two other families showed up around the same time, also confused. And now standing here, three more families have walked up. I called the store and spoke to someone who was genuinely kind and apologetic, explaining that there was no way for them to share the change in hours with customers. But that’s part of the problem.. if you're going to promote a major sale on social media, the hours listed there should be accurate, or at the very least include a note about holiday changes. Also, totally on me, I misread the post and thought it was 40% off everything, when it was actually “up to” 40% off. Still, this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Accurate communication is such a huge part of good customer service, especially when you're encouraging people to line up early. A little more clarity would...
