For background, I had my wedding around Spring in 2024, and the guest count was 56 guests. In addition, we had one coordinator leave Cafe Primavera around January, who was replaced with someone else, and that may have played a role in the event’s circumstances. Even on the day of, the coordinator we were working with got sick and couldn’t make it, and we worked with someone else at CP who we met with beforehand. In addition, I sent Cafe Primavera a version of this review, and they offered a small reimbursement as a way to make amends for their mistakes. It doesn’t “fix” their mistakes, but it is a nice gesture nonetheless.
As for the positives, the food and bartending service was immaculate. We never had any doubts about that.
As for the rest, I must say we were disappointed by the rest of the event and CP’s handling of it . The event mostly ran okay, but overall, we were disappointed by how often our notes and requests were ignored or disregarded. For example:
The layout we provided was not followed. There was no gift table at the entrance like we specified, which led to guests handing us gifts before and during the event. And in addition, myself and the best woman had to physically set up additional tables, decorations, and add-ons prior to the event, as we were getting ready, and during the event.
Champagne was not poured during the toasts, which means we now have bottles of champagne and sparkling cider that went to waste.
Favors were not passed out when we specified. In writing on the event document, they were to be passed out during dessert, and this did not happen. The best woman and I had to physically pass the favors out much later, during a time where many guests were already leaving, which means many of them did not get favors I personally made for them.
Dessert requests were not followed, and we were not informed they could not be followed prior to the event.
Communication on the day of was almost non-existent. If the replacement coordinator arrived, I never knew, which is a problem because in the event there were any issues, either myself or the next in charge would’ve been more than happy to help. Everything necessary was at the venue, and I could easily pull up any notes, layout diagrams, or anything necessary for the event.
If I were recommending Cafe Primavera to other prospective newlyweds, I would highly recommend it based on the food alone. Five stars, six if I could. But for everything else? I’m not sure. I could never say that the event ran poorly, and at the end of the day, we hired them for the food, and that was impeccable, But my wife and I were genuinely let down by things that should have been exceedingly simple, and I’m glad that I had others to rely on to make sure the event ran as well as it could’ve been. A 56 person wedding is not that complicated, and if they had trouble with the simple matters, I worry about their ability to handle something even more intricate and complicated. We appreciate their understanding and willingness to make amends, but I would hesitate to recommend Cafe Primavera to prospective clients. Should any prospective clients move forward, I advise you to reiterate your needs ad infinitum, and be prepared to take matters into your own hands even on the day of...
Read moreWe hired Cafe Primavera for our wedding in May 2022. It was one of the approved vendors with our venue. The tasting was amazing. They hit the spot with everything we asked for. I also liked that the cost proposal was more number of people dependent and didn't have a bunch of fixed costs that we couldn't do anything about.
As for the wedding itself, it was a bit unnerving that our coordinator quit couple of weeks before the wedding but their other 2 people stepped in to cover our wedding and they did a good job. There was some issue with adding last minute packages but our wedding planner was able to resolve this with CP.
We really liked the food served, it actually tasted like it did at the tasting and the service was great too. Only complaint we have is they ran out of Mai Tai mix and it was one of our signature cocktails! We had told them how many people to expect and provided enough quantity of rums. So this was really...
Read moreI highly recommend Erika and CP. She catered my wedding this past September, and she was wonderful. She was really helpful with not only setting up a delicious menu but also helping me with rentals (dishes, silverware, glassware, tables, napkins). She was really great to work with.
The food itself was fantastic. My guests commented on how delicious the hors d'oeuvres and the charcuterie display were during the cocktail hour. They also said the entrees and our signature drinks were great too.
The staff was very professional and friendly. They worked really hard to make sure everything was served and cleared. In addition, they helped set up the rentals and clean up and break down at the end of the night.
Highly recommend...
