This is by far the BEST Home Depot in all of Michigan and Iâd argue the entire country. The team unity and confidence they have is infectious. BIGGG shoutout to Joel and Alexey as youâll read below.
I came in and ran into the manager who was walking the floor and helping customers like myself(a true leader is right on the forefront with the other employees). I had a project trying to make a L desk out of reclaimed bowling alley which was clearly over my head. He bounced some ideas off but then decided to refer me to another pro whoâs name was Joel.
I came back to meet with Joel and talk about my project. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and I could just feel that he wanted me to succeed in the project. We hit several roadblocks and problems with the project but he was able to help problem solve and get past them. He helped with EVERYTHING from resources, tools, plans, timeline, everything! He even shared about his project he was working on which was very impressive. The way Joel explained things made me feel like I was on his level and not him talking down - he was a teacher and educator in the most effective way possible. The guy is a Pro in ever sense of the word.
I then realized that my project was going to cost too much to complete so I recalculated and came back in. Joel was quick to adapt to my revised plan and helped provide a plan. I came back in and he walked me to every aisle and showed me every resource I needed. He set me up with every other pro in each department. The funniest part was Joel only wanted a picture of the finished project as payment for all his hard work and consult - a consult I would have paid hundreds for. And even this picture he said was âoptionalâ. Needless to say I have been giving him progress points every way and he has been giving me minor tweak advice that have helped immensely.
Alexey helped me cut my pipe fitting for over an hour with no complaints and he was quick to help other customers around the cuts. He helped direct me toward other things I needed and had full knowledge of the store. He was very personable and we talked some football while waiting for the pipe. I came in a few more times for more cuts and he was always happy to help. Each cut was pristine and exact.
The front desk staff was able to help a great deal order me parts that were not in the store. Then, I came back when I had a goof with the pipe - they asked no questions and set me up with a return to get me back to my project.
In summary, I canât thank this store enough. I took a project too big for me and they helped me bring it down to my level with advice every step of the way.
This is how every Home Depot should function. I would gladly travel 2+ hours to go to this specific Home Depot if I needed to. Itâs really that good.
Thanks to the Joel, Alexey, and the entire team! I look forward to...
Read moreI would strongly advise any potential customer to refrain from ever working with the kitchen design department or purchasing cabinetry through Home Depot. This has been the most infuriating and difficult process I have ever gone through. My husband and I worked with the design team for weeks, multiple visits and designs drafted, measurement taken, etc. Every single piece of paperwork indicating the design was for white shaker style cabinets. We placed our order on July 15. 2022. We were contacted and advised that the cabinets had shipped from the supplier on August 23rd and should be at Home Depot within 7-10 days. That was not the case. First there was a delay with the shipment. Next only one pallet of the shipment was delivered. When Home Depot contacted us they advised that the rest of our order had been lost due to the shipping company changing warehouses, but that they should be able to locate it and send the remainder of our order within a few days. That did not happen. The shipping company stopped returning Home Depotâs communication, so a secondary order was placed on a rush. About two weeks later the remainder of the original order showed up to Home Depot. Although frustrating, we were thrilled and the home delivery was set up for this past Thursday. That delivery did not come and we were notified via email that no adult was home to sign. This was a lie as I was home all day. The delivery was then rescheduled for today. Low and behold only one pallet was delivered. We contacted Home Depot again and they had two individuals from the store bring the remainder of the order via a rental truck. This was very much appreciated. Things went downhill again this evening. My husband and I began opening the packaging and what do you know, the incorrect cabinets were sent. Here is where it gets a bit challenging though. All of the design paperwork, drafts of our layout and initial paperwork were created using the Hampton Bay, white, Elgin shaker style cabinetry. The final paperwork that simply placed the purchase order was switched to a separate door style of a similar name (Edgeley). While this was definitely an oversight on our part, it was exceptionally easy to miss considering the brand, style and color were all the same (apart from the style name) and the photos indicated the correct design. Essentially, we were presented with and purchased a design we were not actually sold. Now we have been with a gutted kitchen for weeks and are forced to install cabinets that we do not like, nor did we request. Avoid our mistakes and look elsewhere if youâre in the business...
Read moreThis location used to be fantastic! We visited this HD once or twice a week for months prior to our basement finishing project. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. However, a lot of the experienced staff seems to have left and now it's hard to get proper info on just finding stuff in the store, let alone get advice on projects. Recently, I called and asked about drop ceiling tiles and they told me they only sell by a case of 12 or 16. I need just around 4. So I went to Lowes reluctantly. Turns out that this HD does have the ones I wanted in smaller cases, they just lost my business. I went there yesterday to find bi-fold doors. First I was sent to the wrong aisle. Then I was told he would call someone to come and help me but never did! I couldn't find anyone on a Friday night to help me but found one guy after walking around. Then for some screws, the elderly guy was helpful but it took him 15-20 mins to find the screws (not his fault) and couldn't find matching plastic plugs for it!! Simple item they don't have? I told him if he couldn't find it, how would customers find it and he agreed. Things used to be fantastic and we visited so often that we joked we should get frequent visitor points but now, I don't find this location to be as good as it used to be. Also, on a Friday night, not a single cash open except for self check out. Not easy to use self check out with 80" tall doors, luckily a guy helped me load it and scan it.
We spent time working with a guy for a custom window and although we didn't order, we thought all the info was going to be in the system to order later. Nope, they couldn't find anything although they found our names/phone numbers. I hope management reads reviews and makes things better.
On a positive note, the tool rental guys were awesome! We had to rent air movers and powerful vacuum to suck up water from...
