They did the work, but docking points for an unprofessional salesman
Maybe I would've had a better experience working with a Joel instead of Tod Stafford. My parent's house had a leak in the guest room so we called a plumbing company who then brought in Tod to discuss the remediation process. Tod was nice and definitely a charismatic salesman. When he quoted me the price I was a bit hesitant. I hadn't looked up what the average price was so it sounded expensive. I knew the affected carpet in the room had to be removed but I wanted all carpets on the whole first floor removed because we were planning to redo them anyway. He instantly said that he can do it. He'll remove all the carpets for the same price, and will even ask his dad (owner) if he can give more discount. I was sold after he said he would remove all the carpets for us. The extra discount was just cherry on top. Since we wanted to take care of the affected carpets first, he agreed that he would come back at a later time after we found someone to install the new floors before removing the unaffected carpets. I should have seen the red flags but I will admit I was naĂŻve. After signing the contract, he brought out his machines to dry the carpet and ran a hose that was suppose to dump the leaked water in the room to the sink in the bathroom. I didn't realize it until after he left that he didn't even position the hose correctly, instead of dumping the water in the sink, the water was being dumped on the bathroom floor. Before he left that day (Friday), we also agreed he would come back on Tuesday to check and make sure everything was drying up and again return on Thursday at 8AM with his crew to clean everything and strip the affected carpets. He never showed up on Tuesday. At 10AM on Thursday I called to see if he was still coming. He said he was not coming because I didn't answer his calls from the previous day when he tried to confirm the time. I didn't receive any calls from him. Then he immediately said "Oh, I just got a new phone yesterday so I lost all my contacts". I'm pretty sure he was lying but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since we have a contract. The next day they came and cleaned the affected areas and stripped the affected carpet but left them in the house. My mom removed all the carpet outside and I had to call Todd again to check on the progress. He said they were done and ready to collect payment the following week. When he came back to collect payment, he was able to give us some "discount". We asked about removing some tiles in the entryway and wanted a quote. He said AAR wouldn't do it but he was personally willing to do it as a side job because he wanted to help us. We agreed for this to take place in two weeks time. During this time period, I also asked whether he knew anyone that could help us with the installation of the new floors. He said he would talk to AAR to see who they can get to help with this. After thinking about it, my parents changed their mind (several days before the agreed job date) and decided not to go through with removing the tiles (second demo) so we told Tod that we didn't want to remove the tiles but we still want to go through him to get a contractor to install our floors and Tod's crew could remove the remaining carpet. He said he knew someone that will take care of it for a great price. I tried to get a name and phone number but he said he will contact the contractor himself and get back to me, so he didn't provide me the contractors info. Two weeks go by and no word from him so we contacted someone else to do the install but I called Todd again because he still hadn't removed the remaining carpet on the first floor as initially agreed. He said "we can't remove that because it was part of the 2nd demo". WTH. We agreed on removing all the carpets during the 1st discussion. Then he said "well we gave you a discount so we can't do it. The job is now closed". I wish he would have told me that when he "kindly" gave me the discount. Please be more honest and...
Read moreDamages incurred by a leaking hot water heater on Friday, 2/16/24, were devastating. All American Restoration was a called in referral, one I considered a God send. Travis, the owner called and scheduled an appointment within two hours the same day...off to a good start.
There were four technicians involved with my particular problem at different times, all of whom were nicely dressed, clean, extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
Todd Stafford, was my first contact that Friday afternoon. He was polite and so people-oriented introducing the company's history, the services they provided and what my situation would entail after his assessment of the damages. Todd was great at explaining what equipment they would be using for drying and debris removal. I was almost at my wit's end because I was also dealing with my Home Warranty Company. He offered assistance with helping me file a Home Owner's claim because he was sure some of the damages would be covered. Todd's thoroughness was the deciding factor in my employing All American Restoration.
Robert Rivera, Mitigation Specialist, arrived the following Monday, just as friendly and reassuring discussing in greater detail the equipment he would be setting up (dehumidifiers) along with instruction of use. There were the moisture readings and the marking/red taping of all the flooded areas. He too was great at answering my numerous oft-time repeated questions, I appreciated his patience. It was very helpful having Robert actual assist me in filing my first ever home owner's claim. With his restoration expertise and insurance savvy it helped to fast track my claim. YAY! He was always responsive to my phone calls with ready answers and always courteous.
Joel Carriere, another Mitigation Specialist, whom I shall call Mr. Personality was a delight, super friendly and articulate, someone you felt you've known for a while. Like Todd and Robert he is very focused and knowledgeable about his work. He answered all of my questions about the progression and dryness of the damaged areas and was finally able to remove the dehumidifiers replacing them with smaller more specialized fans. Some damaged panels had been removed and although they were covered with temporary coverings, I was a little concerned about safety. Todd, assuaged that safety concern of mine by announcing "when I come tomorrow have a hammer and some nails and I will fix them." Well that young man did just that! He attached some panels that I had on hand and shored-up those panels. Who does that? My definition of one going above and beyond their regular duties. Amazing!
Anthony H. Anthony did such a great job in his specialized field of removing any and all damaged flooring and panels. His work ethics are enviable. He worked almost nonstop until he finished the project. He shared how long he had worked in this business and how conscientious he was about his work. I found this very admirable and he did not disappoint his work was beautiful. He did, however, allow me to buy him lunch from In-N-Out Burger, insuring him a short break. Needless to say his after-job clean-up was impeccable.
They all did a fantastic job, they respected my home and I felt safe having them in my home. Will I recommend this crew and All American...
Read moreSpoke with Robert from All American Restoration just after having a newborn baby in our house. Having known this Robert said heâd take care of everything from getting a mold inspection to helping us find a company to remodel the bathroom. He even used the phrase âIâll take care of everything.â After the first week I heard nothing from Robert and when I called he didnât answer and when I texted I got a failed message as a reply. The mold company did their job and then it was on to the crooked plumbing company Mr. Rooter of San Bernardino that introduced me to Robert and his company in the first place. Mr Rooter âfixedâ the problem and when trying to contact Robert to see if we were able to have the remodel done there was no answer from him. I told my insurance company to send me the checks to give to All American Restoration because I wasnât satisfied with their company and didnât want them to have the money until I was satisfied. All American didnât realize this and continued to ignore my calls. I kept a log of all the times I reached out to them with NO RESPONSE. AAR said they would help to find someone to do the remodel - but hey didnât⌠they never even reached out after their did their job. They also said theyâd have someone come pick up the old vanity and toilet claiming the insurance needed to look at it but the insurance company didnât. Then after AAR realized I had their check and not the insurance they started trying to contact me. Their receptionist Ashley is SUPER ghetto, she talks like a street person, has no class, and shouldnât be working for a company that claims to be legit!!!!! I would NEVER recommended this company to anyone ever! Worst choice of my life!!! And as a side note Mr Rooter didnât fix the leak, they had to come back after my remodeling company tried to start the remodel and after weeks of the remodeling company fixing the bathroom (toilet, tub, tile, vanity, etc) we find out that Mr Rooter didnât secure the pipe inside the wall properly. So I would NOT use Mr Rooter or All American Restoration as they work hand in hand to gouge money from good people like myself and my family! MR Rooter will contact AAR saying âthey know somebody to helpâ Iâm sure itâs a family scam! Use...
