Chef Todd, thank you!!! Taste of home was on my menu today, and you delivered 1000 percent! Fantastic Detroit pizza!! Tried the White - Carmelized Onion and Roasted Garlic Sauce, was amazed by how good this pizza was. Reminded me of the classic Argentinian pizza, Fugazzeta. For this pizza alone we will be back. Also tried a slice of Pepperoni, outstanding red sauce (not too sweet) and perfect pepperoni. After I saw Coney Chili Dog on the menu, had to try it to see if it would compare to Lafayette or American or National, and Chef Todd hit a home run!!! Tasted just like a Coney Chili Dog from Detroit, complete with the famous snap! Faygo Red Pop and Verners were offered, fun reminders of Michigan. And the Salted Caramel Bar is SO GOOD! Really nice to meet Chef Todd and his father, Aaron. Next time we will call 1 day in advance to try the Aaron, Garlic Shrimp pizza. Thank you for the experience of an excellent, authentic...
Read moreToday was the first time eating at the Detroit Pizza Joint. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by a gentleman named Todd. He was extremely cordial and greeted me with a smile. I ordered a Detroit chili dog with mustard, and it was absolutely delicious. It was so tasty that I ordered a second one. I found out that Todd was the owner and he truly cares about the customers dining experience. I chatted with him and his father while I was there. There is no better hot dog in Fort Myers or Cape Coral. One other important observation. The restaurant is extremely clean. I give it 10 stars for cleanliness.I will be back tomorrow to try the Chicago style hot dog with sauerkraut. Super nice owner that really takes pride in serving great hot dogs. Glad I tried this place today. I will tell all my friends about this eating establishment. You will leave totally...
Read moreI got a slice of the White-Roasted Garlic with Caramelized Onions and a side of Chili Cheese Fries (picture of đ slice shows sprinkled parm cheese from little to go packages from restaurant, plate & fork is mine). Pizza was pretty good tasting although there was no base sauce included which made it on the drier side, very small amount of onions, and felt like it was missing a cream based sauce to tie it all together. I could tell the ingredients they used were good and it was not greasy. I would try a more traditional style slice next time.
The chili cheese fries were surprisingly better than the slice of pizza. Cheese sauce was did not have the typical fake flavor, fries were crispy, and the chili was pretty good.
Service was on the slow side, about a 15 minute wait past what was quoted on a late Monday afternoon. However service was friendly and seemed genuine. I...
