Before I begin. I did not have beer off their wall, nor did I have their pizza. What I did have was a pretty poor experience.
Took the wife to lunch since our kid was hanging out at a friend's house. Wanted to try this place since it is relatively close to where we live. Anyway, opened door and was gretted with a "Hi." So naturally I said "Hi" back and was expecting to be asked how many...nope. We all shared an uncomfortable silence for about 10 seconds until one of the 3 hostesses(host) decided to ask us "how many?" Naturally I wouldn't take stars away from a business for such a small grievance.
However, here it goes, I ordered the one burger on the menu (the other one is plant based so it does not count.) I was asked how I wanted it cooked, and i told our waitress medium rare.. but before I ordered I asked if this was something feasible by the kitchen otherwise I would order something else. I was guaranteed they could surely do medium rare. Now I eat my burgers medium but anticipate the restaraunt overcooking them which would give me a good medium burger. Nope. Was well-done. (I won't send food back due to what I have seen in the industry.)
Wife ordered the French toast on brunch menu. Says it comes w fruit. Never came with fruit. Waitress came back and stated "Sorry we have no fruit." And WALKED AWAY! Never even asked if she wanted an alternative side. So I expected the bill to be adjusted appropriately....nope. Full price.
Overall food is "Meh" on the quality scale. I did however enjoy the fried pretzels. I'm sure the beer wall is neat but I just wasn't in the mood to drink. Although another honorable mention...the mango tea is very good. The mango tea and appetizer essentially saved this review.
My experience left a foul taste in my mouth and therefore won't come back. It's unfortunate as it seems like a decent place. However the highschoolers flirting in the front not understanding how to seat someone, and the total negligence by our server to not comp for the side of fruit just didn't seem right to me.
I did post some pics of the menu and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA Disappointing First Impression (with a glimmer of hope) We visited Oak and Stone with our family, and while the atmosphere and our server were great, the food unfortunately fell flat. Based on the positive reviews, I have a feeling we ordered the wrong things, which is a shame because we really wanted to love it. Three of us ordered sandwiches. The most unusual was the BBQ Bacon Burger, which came with a bizarre, prefabricated fried cheese square on top. It looked interesting, but the cheese was cold and honestly just felt out of place. The burger was also ordered rare but arrived medium, and the cheese was so heavy that we were a bit turned off from sending it back. It was trying to be "gourmet" but ended up being a weird texture and temperature contrast. My Classic Reuben looked promising, but the meat was a huge letdown. It tasted like top round and was completely flavorless. The sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing were good, but they couldn't save the sandwich. The turkey sandwich was similarly unmemorable, with my daughter only describing it as "okay" and saying she wouldn't order it again. The saving grace was, surprisingly, the chicken fingers which were honestly the best thing at the table. Our server was excellent and also handled the bar, which was a huge plus. We didn't complain about our food, as we were hungry and didn't want to create a fuss, but the experience was generally mediocre across the board. I'm left feeling conflictedāI'm tempted to come back and try the pizza or wings that others rave about, but I'm hesitant to spend more money after such a disappointing first visit. It might be a couple of years before we give it a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are new to the area and still learning our way aroundā¦and Oak & Stone was a real find! Premises are gorgeous and the good time shared by the boisterous crowd was infectious. Much of the usual sports bar stuff;multi screens, indoor/outdoor seating bars, tables and booths (great atmosphere!) and a wall of craft beers where your wrist band enables you to serve yourself and sample the way too many selections of craft brewsā¦(pay by the ounces poured) For a place like this, you donāt typically expect the food to be goodā¦and to be honest, it wasnāt just goodā¦it was off-the-charts EXCELLENT! We had had the awesome corn-flake crusted grouper sandwich (I couldnāt believe how LARGE that piece of fish was. I love grouper, and have had smaller pieces as a $30-40 entree! You really could have made two sandos out of that one piece, and no one would have felt short-changed. We had a couple of awesome bowls resplendent with grains and an awesome supporting cast. The mushroom pizza (one of many mouth-watering choices) was delicious. My honey and I shared an Ahi Bowl and a personal pizza and I couldnāt finish my shareā¦and Iām a big guy! The one thing that made our dining experience sheer perfection was the incredible service provided by our waitperson/(realtor) Billie H, who provided us with the best service we have enjoyed since moving to Naples. She was friendly, helpful to a fault, and checked up on us to make sure we were pleased with every facet of the meal. (Sad that there wasnāt the ability to give her more than 5 stars) The ambience, the food and the service were all top-notch. Why arenāt you there already? Youāll thank me...
