Gavins Ace hardware has the worst custmer service and communication of any place I have been. I purchased a backpack blower from there cape store in July of 2018 and I had to get a warranty repair done. Upon arrival to drop the blower off April 25 2019 I was treated with disrespect and I feltike I was bothering the staff when I asked where I needed to take the blower and when I dropped it off. After a week of them having my equipment I had to call them and see what was going on. They said they were waiting on a part which is fine. Another week goes by and I'm told by there phone call it is done, I then start heading there way to get it and I get a call that it is not done. They said the tech found another issue and they are waiting on another part. Very frustrating as I was on my way at that point. Another week goes by and I call and ask what is going on and I'm told it has been done for a WEEK NOW! So, I didn't have time to go and get it and planned on getting it the weekend of May 18th a Saturday. I just got a phone call from Ace saying it is now done, I ask and say I thought it was done a week ago and I said I'm sure glad I was unable to come and get it when I last called and spoke to you. If I had gone there I would of not.been able.to get it as it would not of been done because they were waiting on a part that was on back order which is fine ,but don't tell me that it is done and it is NOT! I spend quite a bit of money at this chain of Ace hardware every year as we do landscaping and I now will NEVER sbop this chain AGAIN! ECHO will and needs to made aware of how there product is being represented! Buyers beware these people could care less about there customers which are the ones that give them jobs and keep them in business. If I could give no stars I would have but it made me give one to write a review! Sad how bad service...
Read moreI had to add a funny story to my original review after my visit just this morning July 29, 2022. I went out to get a bunch of bricks, and when a man asked if I needed anything I told him I was going out there. When I was trying to get in through the doors with my basket full of bricks, I struggled because my basket didn't fit through just one door. Another elderly worker way down the hall was watching me and he never tried to help! I dropped my purse, I couldn't get both doors open by myself with the bricks. It was a hot mess but kind of funny! Maybe his eyesight wasn't so great. Then, when I went to the register, they didn't know the price for the bricks. I physically had to go back out to the bricks take pictures and bring it back to the cashier. I have to say, all of these older guys work there but I don't know what they do. Then, when I was loading my car with the bricks, a different male worker walked by and never offered to help. That said, the female workers there are way better!!!! Just saying. I'm not changing my review, I just had to relay that funny story. I still love this place.

Read moreI have never been treated so rudely as when I had two keys cut at Gavins Hardware on April 13, 2015 at about 2:40 pm. The first key, a house key, went ok but no comment from the male clerk. The second key was a car key with my own blank. He said, "We don't guarantee it will work and we charge $5". I read online ACE would do the cut and program the chip for $4 so I thought it would be ok even without the guarantee. After the cut, the clerk said, "We don't program the key unless it is our key". I said, "Why didn't you tell me that when I asked for the cut and copy of the chip." He said, "That's our policy, tough break". Talk about rude. When I went to pay $7 for the two cuts, I told the clerk Patti and she waived the $5 cut so even though ACE wasn't the place with the helpful hardware man, Patti saved the reputation of the store but not my disdain for the inconsiderate rude clerk. I live less than 3 miles from the store, yet it may be some time before the pain heals sufficiently to return. ...
