On a rainy Saturday afternoon, we decided to give Rib City on McGregor a try for a late lunch. It was after 2:00pm and only two other tables were occupied, but service and food were a perfect 10! Our server, Yammy, was absolutely awesome. Her smile and pleasant personality added to our perfect BBQ lunch.
We enjoyed delicious crispy onion rings $7.99 for a full order (oops - ate them before we took a photo). Our entrees included a combo of BBQ chicken (dark meat only as requested) and fresh, thinly sliced pork plate w/garlic toast and our choice of two sides - creamy coleslaw and hot French fries for $13.99! Both meats had a great smokey flavor and perfectly cooked.
Our other entree was the St. Louis rib dinner w/garlic toast and our choice of two sides - coleslaw and baked beans for $21.99. There were at least five meaty and tender ribs on the platter. Although they were not as hot as I would prefer, our very attentive server quickly resolved the problem. They were returned hot and delicious. (We were so excited to eat our hot ribs, we forgot to take a photo.)
Several BBQ sauces were on the table and we tried them all.
We were stuffed and satisfied, but couldn't turn down dessert - our selection was Coconut Cream Pie! We enjoyed a few bites of this fluffy pie, but took most of it to go - no room to get another bite down.
We beverage choice was fresh brewed 1/2 and 1/2 iced tea served with a lemon wedge. Refills were provided without asking.
Be sure to ask for Yammy - she is awesome and gives all her customers...
Read moreSt. Louis Ribs were great along with coleslaw. But the fries were quite old. Slowest service known to man. Waited an hour for our food. Aimee was our server. When she finally came around to ask if we wanted the bill. She did so, and then went a few booths behind us and started eating food instead. We were there for 2 hours. I dont think i have ever been somewhere for over an hour before. I would definitely try a different Rib City if you really want a good experience.
I asked about the size of the beer. She said it was only 8 ounces. I said i was used to paying the same price for a pint. She then said " what are you? Canadian?".. I said No, but we're from Michigan. She then proceeded to say "You shouldnt tell anyone that because youll get bad service"..
Talk about someone living up to their word. I will definitely make sure my friends and family do not go...
Read moreBuffalo shrimp were tasty but the shrimp were tiny and so was the count, when served small sized shrimp at $9.49 I expect a greater amount.
The Cole Slaw was almost too sweet to eat. Corn nuggets tasted battery and greasy a cooking shortcut I find to be a cheat.
Wanted to provide payment with Apple Pay, when I brought the bill to the register I was shewed away. Cashier requested I return to the table to wait for the waitress and reluctantly said okay. Upon returning to the table “follow me to the cashier” is what the waitress did say, if using apple pay it’s done at register is the way. Please purchase a yo yo if it is back and forth games you wish to play and don’t try to treat customers like a puppy gone stray. Will not be returning to this place another day, I expect inherently tasty ribs to be better than just okay. Away from this place is where...
