Another organization running on taxpayers money…yet doing nothing to help.. I'm 52 and disabled. They've showed me I'm also useless. 3 times I went there following the instructions given me..all 3 times I'm the only non employee there. 2 of these employees made a trip to my house.. "to help"...so 2 documented trips they get to file…I was told to put together a resume and they would get it looking professional.. I did …called about the progress and the first person to lie to my face said they passed it on…no clue to where…it's been over a month now…I have 7 years home care experience so they said they could help…I signed up for the orientation class…waited over a week for it to begin…I was the only person there…I was told to sign some papers saying I took the class and even got another useless certificate…it's been almost a month…nothing…I'm done begging…where are the people who make sure organizations such as this actually do something for those in need…they get paid to literally accomplish nothing…hand out a couple (donated) gift cards and lie to you till there's nothing left for you to sign so they can say…"we tried but we're not miracle workers…which is something they say a lot…I was the only person there…3 times…but an organization that's supposed to be designed to help persons with disabilities find work…can't find anything..not even an interview…I can't live on $700 a month disability…so now I'm left with unpleasant options…this place should be investigated…but of course...

Me and my husband was homeless and sleeping in our truck. We had just moved to carbondale. I was making phone calls to get assitance. We were denied service almost everywhere. I finally reached out to a lady name Lisa Miller and she talk so soft and heart warming in my time of need. She was understanding and she felt bad for me and wanted to help. I was being discriminated by a banking institution prior to Covent and had no where to turn never having not one relative here since relocating from LA in 1985. I lived alone and was lonely and depressed. I would go there at times just to work on the computer etc. I never said much and they just seem to understand. I had no idea that they were observing me all along. A counselor stepped up before I said a word and advocated on my behalf. It's been a few years now but I have no reservations about returning knowing that I will always be welcomed...
