Pita Alley is one of my favorite places to eat. I always get the veggie kalaya which is my favorite dish. Grilled, charred veggies with their homemade hummus and warm pita bread. It can't be beat! Today however, was a huge disappointment. My food came out and the veggies were still crunchy, not cooked or charred in the least bit. My husband went to the counter to let them know, and they were just going to bring me out a side of more vegetables. That didn't make any sense to us as I wouldn't have the hummus with the vegetables, and then what would I do with the raw ones? So, my husband took the whole plate back for a new order. He was almost finished with his gyro and fries before mine came back out. It was about the same as the first, no char on the veggies. I therefore couldn't eat any of the red or green bell peppers as uncooked/raw vegetables make my stomach hurt. The waiter came back to ask if everything was okay, and I let him know that the veggies still weren't cooked but crunchy. He said it was too early in the morning and the gill just wasn't hot. I couldn't believe that we were getting an excused for bad food! ...the insult to injury was the pita bread was cold and chewy. The worst part? They charged us for the meal, which is $9.99 just for my order. They gave us a piece of baklava to make up for my veggies... I'm not even sure I like baklava, as I've never tried it - but honestly feel like they should have corrected the meal if possible, or not charged me for it since I was unable to enjoy it. I guess the word to the wise would be don't go to pita alley at 11 a.m. when they open, as the grill isn't "hot". You need to go in the late afternoon so your order can be...
Read moreThe food was alright. I had the gyro Kalaya and he had a gyro and fries. I also ordered the falafel. The falafel was close to burnt. Everything else was alright but not good enough to pay the price we paid...We could've eaten tastier food at El Paisanos down the end of the plaza for the price we paid and had been served and ate off dishes. The place has potential. It was clean. The staff was nice. They fixed Greek fries...or tried to upon request.(it wasn't on the menu). The vibe is dull. No service. You order at the register. You are given a Styrofoam cup and have to get your own drink. All food is dropped at your table in to go containers. I was hoping for more Mediterranean dishes but you get chicken, steak or gyro meat either on kabob, in a pita or on rice or humus. There's a couple of different dishes..shrimp kabob and lamb chops. They had vegetarian options as well. Not terrible. Not great. No reason to really return though either. I tipped before I knew there was zero service. It costed around 60 bucks...
Read moreI dont leave reviews unless an establishment really stands out to me, and unfortunately this one did in the worst way. First time I went in, the food was so over priced. I finally settled on something, but when i went to order, the cashier tried to charge me for a water so I walked out. Today I decided to try them again as a take out order so I could avoid the water predicament. Maybe its just my taste buds, but the appetizer sampler was near inedible. Food was just not good, and sauce was even worse. It left a bad taste in my mouth even as I write this. My boyfriend wanted the philly cheese steak, veggies on the side, and they charged him a "deconstruction fee". Yes they charged a whole dollar to not put the veggies in the bun. Most of this food went in the garbage which is not normal. I have an iron gut. I can eat anything. Just not this. Biggest waste of $35 I've ever spent. I cant wait til they go out of business, and I have no doubt they will. Save yourself a headache and go to Dave's burger...
