Student Center Bowling & Billiards — Local services in Carbondale

What a great place. It’s closer than the Carterville bowling alley, a significant plus if you live in the Carbondale Murphysboro area!

This bowling alley is located on Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus at the student center building, which also houses a few restaurants when open and a Starbucks.

I must first shout out to the manager Tracy, who is always helpful, friendly, and welcoming!

There are vending machines before you get to the bowling alley that has drinks and snacks.

There is no food inside the bowling alley, but the bowling alley does have a vending machine filled with Pepsi products that accept cash or credit cards, and they also have another vending machine if you forget your socks for around $4 bucks

This is a small bowling alley, but large enough to enjoy. They also offer games in the adjacent room, such as a pool table.

On different days they have cosmic bowling, and also unlimited bowling options. An excellent place for a family with children. It is accessible to people with disabilities. Adaptive equipment such as ball ramps, and bumpers are available upon request.

Had a nice time while bowling but the staff was terrible. We were waiting for 15 mins and no one was there until I eventually called and the person in the back came out to answer the phone. I'm not sure her name, some short blonde girl. She was inattentive and rude because of the jacket I was wearing. The other day when I came here I wore the same jacket and no one said a thing, and the man who was working was the day before ALWAYS ready to help whoever needed it, not hidden in the back. Price was very cheap, $5 per person for 1 game! I believe there was around 16 lanes and plenty of bowling balls to choose from. The music was at a good volume with the rest of the noise as well. We enjoyed the animations after getting strikes, spares, etc. I will definitely plan on going back next semester after...
