The Underground Public House is a perfect dining experience. I do not say that lightly, but it is a sincerely held belief.

The food is absolutely incredible. Everything is made from high quality ingredients, with a lot sourced locally. Everything from the salad dressing to the sausages are made in house. I have never eaten anything less than amazing here.

The menu has several staples, including an amazing brunch on Sundays, but many items rotate on a seasonal basis. They always have house-made sausages and scotch eggs, but they are regularly swapped out for a different variety. Everything is priced very reasonably for the large portions. They also have seafood and dessert specials on the weekends.

The beer selection is top tier. They keep twenty craft beers on a rotating draft menu, including several local options. They always have a great selection of sours, barrel-aged, IPAs, Belgian beers, and more. They regularly update their Untappd, which is an excellent way to keep up with the menu. Wednesday is also draft night, so it's the best time to visit just for a drink. They also have a selection of cocktail specials, all of which are delicious.

I also cannot gush enough about the service. I have always been taken care of so well when I visit, whether on a date, with friends, or just sitting at the bar. All of the staff from the servers to the kitchen are friendly and kind, and I cannot praise them enough for always making me feel welcome.

All in all, I have not one complaint to offer about the Underground. I cannot recommend them enough. They take reservations, so I highly recommend making them to help avoid the wait. They tend to stay pretty busy, for...

Sunday brunch, 1:15 our second time here. First time food was fantastic(supper menu), this time it was awful. We were celebrating, we new what we wanted to try so we ordered upon being seated. Waitress Josie was very friendly. It was a full house, the place is small. After about 35-40 min I asked Josie about the wait, she apologized, that they were very busy, should be about 5 min. A little bit longer and she brought our food. I ordered Banh Mi chicken sandwich w/fries and my husband ordered Biscuits n gravy w/burnt ends! The food was not good! My sandwich was cold, bread hard, hoisin sauce tasted like bbq and didn't feel it went with lemongrass chicken. I ate the chicken pieces and left the rest. When Josie asked how things were I told her only that the fries were cold & soggy, which made no sense, as long as we waited they should've been fresh, hot and delicious! She very quickly said she would bring a fresh order. I tasted my husbands b&g, biscuit was good, gravy, YUCK! I guess the burnt ends were smoked so it had a very heavy smoke taste! Now we knew what the people at the table beside us were doing when they were smelling, tasting, and turning their nose up and not eating much of their b&g plate! My husband ate it but he didn't care much for it, he's not much for wasting food. I just asked for a box and took mine home to our chickens. Josie brought the plate of fresh fries, they were perfect, except for the ketchup! They should offer aoli instead of ketchup at an upscale restaurant!! My husband helped me eat them. We got our check, thanked Josie, and said to each other we'll never be back on...

The hostess was rude, and not very friendly. She didn't bother to tell us the QR code on the table is the menu. The wifi was not very good. I tried everything, but still my phone struggled. VERY PRICEY, but decided to try the good life for a night...it was ALL soooo gross!!! First the old fashioned drink was way too strong, you couldn't taste anything but whiskey. I then asked for a "normal beer", but the waitress said she didn't know, and couldn't get away from the beer menu. So I ordered a blueberry (thinking it was like Big Muddy's Blueberry Blonde...I couldn't be more wrong!!!), it was GROSS, so I ordered another "normal" beer, I had to point to another customer to say what is he drinking to get a somewhat normal beer. Ordered the pretzel with cheese & mustard...GROSS!!! I've had this at many places, but this time the cheese was super gross. Mustard was a bit strong for the pretzel, but could be very good on a sandwich. Next the $42 filet, with garlic mashed, again I've had this at many places all over this country & none were as GROSS as this!!! Whatever seasoning was on the steak was gross, the mashed potatoes were gross, the veggies were too gross looking to even try. The waitress was exceptionally slow for as few people that were the place. Couldn't figure out what was taking her so long. The we get the bill for $160+ for 2 people, for food we really didn't eat because it was so gross. I was soooooo disappointed 😥 There was absolutely nothing we had on our visit that was worth the price of the meal. NOT WORTH THE PRICES This place is...

We had a delightful meal and delicious drinks on 03/24/2021. I appreciate the Public House's commitment to diner safety and social distancing. Masking is required to enter and when not at one's table. I started with a blackberry and lavender sour beer from Scratch Brewery and it was delicious! My bestie got a cucumber martini. Both delicious! We ordered a beet salad to share. As I'm trying to expand my palate, and have always despised beets, I thought I'd give it a go. It far exceeded my expectations. The beets were roasted (I think?) & they added spiced pecan bits and a wonderful chèvre to the greens as well. The house-made dressing was the perfect complement to the mix of flavors. I ordered the pork schnitzel sandwich and my bestie ordered the house made sausage sandwich. Each came with house-made French fries. The schnitzel is massive! Come with an appetite or be prepared to take home a doggie box. I also got an order of Scotch Eggs to go. I'd heard of them and have always wanted to try them. I'm so glad I did. They use their own house-made sausage to make them and it is SO good. This was my first visit, but I fully plan to go back. **I should let you know that reservations are a very good idea. We didn't make reservations, and were fortunate to be seated as they had a busy evening that Wednesday. I will not make that mistake again.

My husband and I came by for dinner and were really excited to try this place. The staff was very welcoming and everyone was following the mask mandate- which we appreciated. Though the food looked incredible, the taste fell short on a few things. The poutine awesome, 10/10. My husband got the PBR Reuben, and was really excited because both kimchi and pork belly are favorites of his. The kimchi slaw was extremely mild compared to what we usually tend to find and the sandwich could have used the heat. The pork belly was thick cut and had a great smokiness, but on the whole the sandwich was pretty bland. The pork schnitzel sandwich was about the size of my head. It's an insane size so keep in mind when ordering. It will definitely be multiple meals. I EAT, and still took home 3/4. This sandwich too was lacking in flavor, and even with the mustard and pickled red onions it was overall bland. I'm not sure if we just ordered the wrong things but based off the pictures with all the plate appeal and flare, we were really looking forward to a flavorful meal. It was okay, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again, especially when we walked away indifferent for over $70.

Today was my first ever visiting this place, I did a takeout order. Heard a few good things, so I decided to check it out. I was sat at the bar and placed my order, the Bistec de Havana and Poutine Fries and specifically told them that NOT add bacon because I am allergic! while I waited I had an old fashion drink, which was alright. I come home to eat not thinking of checking my food because it being a professional establishment, I just started eating and out of nowhere started to feel unease, and I am very sick now with an upset stomach throwing up, itching and breaking out in hives. The food was really good but I threw up - had to take medication before it got worse. Didn’t know who to contact so I wrote a review.
