The customer service is awful, awful, awful! I have been paying membership fees here monthly for myself and my nanny. I rarely go due to work but still have no problem paying the dues because I enjoy the classes when I can attend. Recently, just before Thanksgiving, my card on file had fraud on it and needed to be updated. They called and texted me on Thanksgiving mind you to change my payment method! I obviously intended to do so. However, Thanksgiving is most definitely not the time for these matters.
I also had my daughter's birthday and a business trip to Dallas for three days. I also have three kids including a 10 month old nursing baby! I was contacted the Friday after Thanksgiving, with an attitude asking for a new card. I'm in the Cinepolis watching Wicked with my 7 year old birthday girl. I went to the location after the movie at 3pm. They're closed, of course!
I finally spoke to them this morning after returning from my Dallas work trip. I gave them my credit card and told them to cancel. I received an attitude the entire time and I asked where's apology. The manager said for what?! I explained to her how wildly inappropriate it is to contact someone on a holiday. She tried to Karen me. Saying don't yell at me ma'am. BTW, I had asked for the manager to contact me, which she didn't. I called back in the later afternoon 4pm. She said she was checking in a group. I apologized and asked if she wanted me to call back, no response. This behavior is completely unacceptable! I'm expecting them to send me the owners info. but I have serious doubts I'll receive it. I'll be contacting the Orange Theory franchise in the morning. The disrespect is completely unacceptable and the company should know it's happening here.
BTW, if I had received a simple apology from the beginning I would have...
Read moreOTF classes are designed to be fast-paced, high-intensity workouts that focus on a combination of strength, power, and endurance. You will never take the same class twice, which has helped keep things fresh even after years of taking classes. Signature classes, benchmarks, and seasonal event challenges are also things you just don't get with a typical gym. Along with a carefully-tracked diet, I was able to lose 60 pounds over the course of a year with OTF and continue to use OTF to maintain my fitness nearly a year later.
I've found that how much I enjoy a class really depends on the coach that leads the class. The traits I'm looking for in a great OTF class are excellent instructions (how an exercise should be performed, what I need to be doing at the current moment), excellent expectation-setting (what will the workout be? what will the block be? what's the next thing we'll be doing? how many seconds are left in this all-out run?), good timing (I have no idea how coaches keep track of 2-3 different groups of people sometimes with completely different timing between groups), and high levels of positivity. The head coach at this location, Anthony, really excels at all of these things. I'd suggest any new members to take classes with each of the coaches to get an idea of what coaching style they prefer best.
The front-desk staff here have also always been helpful.
OTF has become essential for my mental and physical health and I'd recommend it to anybody looking to improve those aspects of their life in a challenging but fun way. Just keep in mind that walking through the door is truly the most challenging part of the workout! Be kind to yourself and stay consistent and you'll surely...
Read moreI have been a member of Orangetheory La Costa for over 6 months and it has been a phenomenal opportunity for growth. I had previously experimented with standard gym workouts, Pilates, my own outdoor activities…..none of those options left me very satisfied. I decided to give Orangetheory a try after hearing good things from a few trusted sources.
The first class was a lot to swallow. But my coach, Dani, and the other members made me feel welcome. I decided to join and began attending classes on a regular basis. The coaches are all quite talented and genuine. They bring their own inspiration to the table which has helped me to remain open minded. Anthony makes a point of acknowledging everyone as they come in to begin class, ensuring we all know we’re supposed to be there, whether you’re up for it or not. Shane makes sure you’re on point with your weight floor form and grants a shoutout as the screen shifts from green to orange — Especially those who manage to throw an “orange party.” Adena’s voice keeps me feeling strong through an all-out and she makes sure your rowing form is inline, so you don’t waste any energy. Beyond the charisma of the coaches and the ability to personalize your own workout not some of the time, but every time, I’ve kept coming back because each class remains a new opportunity. The classes are both isolated events and also a chance to track growth without unnecessary pressure or expectation. Every time I show up, I am greeted by a friendly face and the momentum just...
