Avoid at all costs and save your money. Came with my family and was told the wait was 30 minutes, so we put our name down even though the host that had taken my name down looked confused or she was new to the job. 45 minutes later and no text message or call that our table was ready. I called them and they said they called our name 30 minutes ago, when I told him there was no call he proceeded to tell me my name isn't even on the list. Nonetheless, we came, sat down, and ordered (mind you I had 5 kids with me). 40 minutes later and the food was still not out yet. The host told me she doesn't know what happened to my ticket in the kitchen, and brought out a piece of cake to "hold the kids down". 10 minutes later and still no food. Hostess brought another piece of cake. Finally after 50 minutes of nonsense and every other table around us getting their food (even though we ordered way before they did) and finishing it, the owner/manager walks up to us and asks us if we would like fruit for our kids while ignoring me, and apologizing to my 15 year old daughter. I can't make this stuff up. If it wasn't for my kids I would have left a long time ago, but my daughter had to eat before her game. The food finally came (we are vegetarians and made sure to say no meat in anything) and there was turkey sausage in my son's burrito. Again, manager comes and looks unphased and unapologetic. Her whole vibe was off and felt very robotic. The robotic manager removed the meat burrito off the bill, but at this point the whole bill should have been thrown away. The whole experience was a disaster, and grossed me out with the food also being bland. Will never come back to this place. Poor customer service and...
Read moreMy daughter and I went for breakfast this morning, for the first time. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and greeted us well. We sat outside . Table was dirty which I had to clean it up with my hand wipe. Server brought us two cup of water which one of them had lipstick stain. I asked our waitress to give us another cup of water. Then we realized the small bucket of crayons has a ketchup stain( they gave it to my daughter for coloring) Coffee taste was so bad and I had to ask to change it. waitress brought another cup and taste was fresh. Apparently the first cup of coffee was a old brew from earlier in the morning. Food quality was okay. At the end when I got our bill , I noticed that they charged my daughter’s juice $6.95!! I asked waitress ( Fatima G) that in your kids menu saying kids juice $2.95. She stated that because you ordered out of kids menu!! I showed her the kids menu only says kids beverages $2.95 and it doesn’t specify what exactly is kids beverages. If Orange juice is not in kids menu you should make a note in your kids menu and saying orange juice excluded. Unfortunately our waitress had a bad attitude ! This is the lack of management, can’t train their employees well enough to learn how to deal with situations. If you see a lipstick stain on a glass of water at least shows you care! Or if the bill is wrong , don’t show attitude. We will not back to this...
Read moreI dropped in for lunch and ordered the "Chicken Plate" ($12.95). The chicken used in Beach Plum Kitchen's boneless fried chicken cutlet is thigh meat, which is always a better idea than breast meat if you don't want a piece of meat well on its way to dehydration. They use a breadcrumb-based fried crust, even if the chicken is somewhat plain. It reminds more of "schnitzel" than fried chicken, and I immediately felt like I should have gotten a lemon to squeeze over it.
The chicken came with fresh fruit and home fried potatoes, the latter of which were actually wonderful, and reminded me of the home fries I've had at top diners on the east coast that I just haven't been able to find out here in California. There was a pleasant herb and spice blend on the potatoes -- a little bit of heat to them, and although they were not crispy, there was a ton of flavor on these large potato chunks and sliced peppers. If they used the same herbs and spices on the chicken as they used on the potatoes, Beach Plum Kitchen would have scored higher in my fried chicken rankings. But, plain as the chicken is, and being boneless, I can't justify a higher ranking.
I'd love to come back here for brunch -- I feel that's probably this...
