I purchased my first ever stromanthe triostar, string of dolphins, and string of hearts! For a small local business, the selection of plants are CRAZY WILD AND MASSIVE! All 3 costed $50-60. The price for the string succulents were pretty affordable, in my opinion. Regarding the service I received, I would say don’t expect overly friendly but the owner who checked us out were responsive to all of our questions and showed us the vanilla orchid and told us about some ferns that caught our eye. Everyone is entitled to spending their money wherever they see fit but I didn’t experience anything overtly rude. It would be nice to have super friendly service but not every place is like that. I also prefer to having my own space when shopping. Give me some time (because I take forever to shop - I need to see everything) and don’t ask me too many questions. It’s unfortunate to hear about the many negative experiences but I guess I was lucky? I followed all the rules and had on my mask and tried to honor all the signs. I got an impressive show of plants and I’ll definitely be back as long as the service is decent.

Tom, the owner, is lovely. He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient in explaining care, and has 50 years of experience to offer. Don't bother with any of the negative reviews below. The greenhouse has an impressive collection of paphs and phrags along with many cattleya, dendrobium, masdevilla, Vanda, and oncidium alomg eith lots of other rare plants. Tom introduced me to a new orchid, a neofinetia, when I told him I was looking for something compact with fragrance. His prices are very reasonable. I purchased two additional paphs that I had been searching for - a venustum hybrid and a sanderanium hybrid. He knew other orchid dealers I had purchased from and he linked me up with the Maryland Orchid Society. This business is a gem that I drove 90 minutes to get to - and it was absolutely worth it.

This place could not possibly be more amazing! They offer a wide selection of houseplants at all rarity levels and price ranges :) It's a gorgeous place to visit and buy from. Pictures aren't permitted inside, but believe me when I say it's not a sight you'd want to miss! Love, love, love. I've purchased multiple african violets and other plants from here. Walking around in the store is like stepping into a jungle, in the best way possible.. Anyway, I could rave all day about this place! If you like plants, you've gotta give it a visit. -Chloe Henkel @chloe.creating

Hello! I wanted to give a review since I have bought from little greenhouse a couple of times now. I wanted to ensure everyone that this is an amazing nursery that meticulously makes sure they ID all their plants, if it’s a hybrid you know the exact parentage which can be helpful for horticulturalists to keep their collection organized or if we want to breed two plants then we will know the parentage of those two plants; helping us hypothesize the vigor, color, and size of the offspring. I would like to mention as well that their prices are a bit above other nurseries but not by much, but they have a good reason to; after seeing another post slandering their prices I had to mention that little greenhouse has a mass amount of diversity in their plants, most of them being orchids which can range from 20$ - 125$ , READ THE TAG, realize what you’re buying and why it’s that price, if it’s a cross that makes a unique flower then of course they have a right to price it at 125$, I see plants here I never see at other nurseries like valley view farms, one other thing while of course they can answer any questions you have it is a little disheartening to see so many people not know how to take care of what they’re buying; DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, it is your fault if you kill a plant by not meeting it’s needs and environmental factors or dormancy requirements. All the plants little greenhouse provides are vigorous, disease and pest free, I still have mine from last year and they are outgrowing my pop up greenhouse, do not expect to keep an orchid in your dry-air living room and expect it thrive, once again because it’s one of my own pet peeves; do your research please. I have expanded the diversity of my orchid collection thanks to little greenhouse and plan on returning indefinitely to purchase more plants, please if you’re willing to understand that they are passionate about what they do and they care deeply about their plants, follow their rules or don’t come here, realize this nursery offers a unique array of plants for sale And some of them maybe more expensive, this place is for all but for sure better suited for serious growers and people in the horticulture field, who know how to properly care for their plant and not blame the...

My mom and I went to Little Greenhouse today for the first time. We were really excited to go because we both collect orchids and just love plants in general. The outside looked nice and the parking area was good.

The first thing we saw was a sign that says no bags of any kind, including handbags. We went back to the car to return our purses and only brought a debit card and our phones in our pockets. No big deal, easy thing to comply with, just make sure you wear something with pockets to carry your belongings. Upon entering the greenhouse, we see a sign that says no photography, no cameras. Seems odd, but again easy to comply with. We walk toward the main room and the gentleman behind the counter looks up but does not acknowledge us at all. We see another sign that says 'pots not for sale.' We walk into the room on the left and see some sparsley scattered plants. There are different types of plants, not just orchids, which was fun. The plants just looked uncared for with many having brown leaves. We saw some really nice looking plants on the bottom shelves of the tables but there were signs saying 'do not touch' and 'not for sale.' There were a lot more plants in a back area of the room but there was a chain across the entrance to that area with a not for sale sign. We then went to the room to the right of the front door and it was the same situation. A lot of plants that didn't seem like they were doing the best and the best plants in an area chained off with a not for sale sign.

My mom and I ended up leaving after exploring the areas that weren't chained off. It was a really big disappointment for us because we were really looking forward to finding some nice orchids to purchase. It seems like a very negative, unwelcoming business. I understand having rules and certain things not being for sale but when you enter a business and that is the first thing you see and there is no friendly welcome, it makes you feel like the owner would rather you not be there in their space.

Based on the previous reviews, it seems that some people have had good experiences at this business, so maybe it was an off day or maybe most of the plants were being saved for an upcoming event of some sort. I don't think we will be going...

The absolute rudest customer service I've ever encountered, and I am not someone to complain about service workers often. From the get go the two men working there were very condescending to my boyfriend for no reason, they basically followed us around to make sure we weren't taking any pictures of the plants, and then they told us we needed to limit our visit to 20 minutes and accused us of not intending to buy anything, when we had only been there for maybe half an hour, which considering how many plants are in the facility is not a long time. The worker told us to ask any questions if we had any.

So, we promptly started to head out and my boyfriend asked if one of the larger plants could be delivered given there was a sign in the front that advertised local deliver, and I assumed it applied to any of the plants. Then the man let out a frustrated sigh and said "I don't want to be doing all that" and condescendingly told my boyfriend how he needs to put it in the passenger seat of his car, as if we just hadn't considered that. My boyfriend was politely just like "I have an Impreza so I just wasn't sure if it could fit, can I bring my car up to see?" And the man responded obviously agitated like "you need to listen to us, this isn't our first rodeo, we've only been doing this for 47 years...meanwhile we have paying customers waiting" which, first of all, we were nowhere near the cash register and there was a cashier free, so we were not interrupting any sales whatsoever. It was clear they for some reason just took issue with my boyfriend being there at all, because they had told us to ask if we have any questions but acted like he was a nuisance for asking very simple questions. He was not arguing with them at all yet they were extremely combative. I've never seen such rude people and I have no idea why they treated him that way. It's beyond anything that has ever...
