I would avoid using PRC if you can. They were recommended to use for service, at first everything moved smoothly, then just as quickly, it all fall apart.
Take this with a grain of salt, but we hired them because our water heater busted. They came quickly, they took their readings, the project manager explained to us how its all gonna work.
Next, they came and removed all the water damage to the carpet padding, the laminate floors. They put in equipment to began the drying.
Before they had a chance to talk to my insurance, they wanted to start the reconstruction, and they wanted to tear the walls down & replace all the flooring in the house! The flooring is continuous. We said we wanted to wait for the insurance. Good thing, because the insurance said they were only paying for the damaged areas.
Now came a cat and mouse game between us, the insurance, & PRC. We would call PRC & ask for an update, they would blame it on the insurance. Call the insurance, they blamed it on PRC. Back & forth, until PRC stopped returning calls in a timely manner or at all. Our insurance adjuster calls us back the next day and actually follows up when she says she will.
Our Project Manager said he was going to be there when the adjuster came, he was not there. No phone call, never answered his phone etc. Which if he was there, they would be able to discuss the repairs and that would have been settled right away.
Another time (before the no-show), we had people show up out of the blue with no notification.
Our PM went on vacation (or had time off). Which is fine, i get it. But why wasnt a temporary PM assigned, or at the least, our PM notify us that he will be out of town as a courtesy.
We requested a new project manager. Supervisor was suppose to call us, called once. We called back, he sent us a text saying he would call back, never did. Then claimed to the PRC rep that he called many times (have call logs to prove that was not the case).
All in all, 3 weeks (going on 4) since the incident happened, we are still with no repairs (besides the water damage stuff that was done). We have no flooring since it was taken out. We waited about 2 weeks to install a water heater because we were told that the water heater would not be covered under insurance and that it would have to be removed to repair the closet where it stood. Not wanting to shell out another $1000 in labor ($500 to remove and install the heater twice), we wanted to wait, but 2+ weeks of cold water is ridiculous. We had to put it in, sucks but whatever.
We hired PRC to take care of our house, but we ended up having to do 80% (or more) of the followup until we were fed up with them.
We get the invoice, insurance said they would handle it, fingers crossed.
But what a shocker! Over $3000! I didnt shop around because if the service is good & recommended, then it comes at a cost. But asked another company what would they charge (called after) half of what the invoice says. These people nickel and dime you for literally everything. Then charge you for things they didnt do/time spent when they didnt spend that time or not that much time.
Invoice also says mentioned a bid, we were given no bid. Assuming because insurance was going to be involved. We werent given any hourly rates, or their new recent policies for COVID (which are things you are being charged for is what the invoice implies). We also werent notified that they charged extra for "after business hours" services (which invoice implies). Which doesnt make sense since its emergency services. Emergencies dont stop after the business closes..
Overall, take it with a grain of salt if you want, & I may just be being petty because i am really unsatisfied with their service. Or lack of. Since our walls are still wet.
But really not happy with not having flooring, missing flooring (tiles) on adjacent rooms, no padding under the carpet, & holes on my walls, tape on the walls. And their lack of communication & management skills. Cant move on with our lives because PRC left us no choice but...
Read moreREAD THIS BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY: Just wanted to advise all that if you're looking for a restoration service to accommodate you during an emergency situation, DO NOT USE this service. First off, they charge your insurance company an arm and a leg and although you will not pay directly, your total cost to the insurance company will increase significantly and I guarantee you the insurance company will raise your rates after everything settles. Second, when furniture was returned to our home after being stored for 3 months, our leather kitchen chairs were damaged and decorative flowers were broken. The flowers were not a problem with them replacing, but when it came down to repairing or replacing the chair(s), this became a major issue. PRC's Rafael Garcia (PM) led their effort by taking our chair away to try to repair with a leather material that would match. After 2 weeks Rafael called and contacted us and arranged to meet at our home, the color he presented to us did not even come close in color or texture. He then offered to reupholster all four chairs, but the color was not right. So, Rafael said he would look again to see if he could find a better match. Another month past, not hearing a peep from Rafael. I called and left messages, texts, and my wife even called. Not one call back. Finally, after 3 more weeks, we called into the PRC office to complain. Word must have got to Rafael because we then received a call to status us. He said, he found the best color possible, so we met at our home to see if it matched the other chairs. The color or texture again was not the right shade of brown, so again we said to Rafael that it is not the right color. Rafael then offered us $130 to reupholster the chair and I asked him why would I do that and not the other 3 chairs? Especially, if it was not the correct color. He said, his company will pay for two of them, but not all four. My wife and I said “no” we cannot accept your offer. Then Rafael got an attitude and pulled out the contract trying to inform us that PRC is not responsible for anything even if they damage or lose any of your personal belongings. In other words, he was telling me they have no liability or skin in the game. PRC basically informed us they are not responsible for anything, so we got a take it or leave it type attitude. Now, the chair will be coming back to us after 2 months of time and nothing will be done. I cannot tell you how upset we are about this. In addition to the damaged leather chair(s), I purchased a cross from Rome, Italy about 10 years ago, which at the time before the Euro kicked in, I paid $650.00 (today the cross would cost $2,000), somehow it got lost in the move back and Rafael and PRC took no responsibility for it. I even offered for them to meet me halfway and they would not. Folks, this company is unbelievably cheap and not concerned about your personal items if they were to get lost or damaged (in other words they take no responsibility, which is extremely dangerous), so please look elsewhere for a reputable company that will protect you in the event something happens to your personal items or you will be writing a YELP review just like us to tell your horrible story. I would much rather write a great review because this is not my style. But in this instance, this is much deserved! We will now need to purchase (4) new chairs and fly to Italy to purchase a new cross. Total lost dollars using PRC $3,500.00, not including the plane fare to Italy. Not a good idea to hire...

We experienced water intrusion at our four-unit property in Brentwood, and needed mold remediation followed by interior finish restoration ... STAT! Two units were in rent abatement, and we were deep in escrow with a potential buyer, set to close in two weeks.
PRC was advertised in AAGLA's monthly magazine, and from my first call I knew we'd made the right choice.
PRC's J. Carlos Valadez was able to come and assess the project the same day. We viewed the damage, discussed the full scope, signed the contract, and PRC teams arrived the next morning to begin work. All were polite, knowledgable and, especially, respectful of our tenants. The worksite was tidy at the end of each day. Carlos kept us informed of the progress, and synchronized the start of the renovation phase with Alberto, so that we could finish before the sale closed - and get our renters back into their homes.
Alberto Oliva handled the second phase, our renovations, with masterful coordination. New drywall, crown moldings and baseboards went in seamlessly; the paint was matched perfectly; new carpet was laid; furniture repositioned; fixtures, drapery rods, and even drapes were re-hung by his team.
Near completion, and on very short notice, Carlos attended a meeting with all building tenants and our buyer, and answered every question they had about the job. Extensive photos were provided, detailing each stage of the containment, contaminant removal, repair, and refinishing. He even offered his business card to everyone in case of further questions. To us, that showed true confidence in PRC's work!
On the business side, Dorothy was always helpful and professional - with a smile in her voice...
PRC Inc. came to our rescue. We couldn't be happier with the job they did.
