“Had dinner at Las Palmas Cafe with my cousin tonight and it was amazing!

I ordered the #35 Jumbo Shrimp Sampler — crispy breaded shrimp wrapped in bacon, served with rice, beans, and a buttery dipping sauce that’s addictive. My cousin got the #30 Carne Asada Steak and Shrimp, perfectly seasoned and super tender.

We started with chips & salsa (fresh and flavorful), and shared a plate of Super Nachos with Carnitas — cheesy, loaded, and definitely big enough for two. I also had their Albóndigas Soup, which came packed with veggies and tender meatballs in a rich broth.

So unfortunate how downhill this restaurant has gone. I used to come here quickly 15-20 years ago, the food the prices and staff were always fantastic. Now all of those items have gone out the window. We ordered a single burrito, one bowl of soup, and one shrimp tostada and a coke (literally was charged $8.50 with a refill for this)... total with tip came out to $64. Literally insane. Also restaurant seems understaffed or like they don't really care. Multiple items came late certain things had to be asked for multiple times. Old ambiance is gone. Avoid this place at all costs or prepare for disappointment. Ask to see the size of the small soup before you order or be prepared to be shocked. Will sadly never...

I hadn't been to Las Palmas in years. I came for lunch with some friends. The atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting. I ordered the 2 item combination with cheese enchilada and chili relleno. It was very good. The meals come with choice of salad or soup. The choices of soup are albondigas or chicken tortilla. I chose the chicken tortilla. It was delicious and substantial enough for a lunch by itself. I wasn't able to finish it because of it's size and my main order came out. Next time, I think I'll order the soup by itself for lunch.
