Steptoe's Jewelry — Local services in Carthage

My poor mother has had the worst experience with the buisness, so I am posting on her behalf. She dropped her engagement ring off to be resized about 3 months ago (before Covid-19). The jeweler told her about 1 month later that he sent the ring to another jeweler in Longview that was not returning it due to Covid-19. After waiting another month, my mom called jewelers in Longview and found out that Steptoes, in fact, never sent the ring to Longview & they still had it in Carthage. After calling multiple times, Steptoe finally admitted to having her ring and it STILL not being resized. Very shady...

I do not recommend taking anything of value to steptoes jewelry in Carthage. Not only did he have my rings for over 5 months he completely took my grandmas ring apart and gave me a cheap setting, it also fell out after only 3 days. I’m devastated beyond words.

I feel like I failed my grandma by allowing someone ruin something she gave me. It’s all I have left of her.
