Dollar General — Local services in Cary

This place has a weird cold vibe. I don't need friendly but they're kind of zombies probably miserable or something they just keep staring at you like you're gonna steal they don't speak to you. I don't care if you had good prices I would not care one bit but I don't understand the business model here there's no good prices here honestly anybody who's savvy and as a keen eye for pricing knows that there's no good deals here... In fact several like items are more expensive than you can find that the common big box stores. The more I think about it I think they're hoping you fall into one of their several high-margin items when you go in there to pick up something cheap but there's really nothing cheap I mean there's this 1 Isle with dollar item stuff but Dollar Tree yes it is a $1.25 now but it's organized and way bigger selection so they've got 1 Isle here of dollar items and basically it's junk. I travel regionally and sales so I'm in and out of stores all day and I'm always buying stuff ... I'm telling you I couldn't find one good deal here.

Plus like I said you feel like you're at some kind of prison commissary or something. It's like they're shaming you in to feel like you did something wrong by walking in there. Lol.... I guess I kind of caught myself on that 1 because in a way they are right if they feel this way.

Bottom line the place is awful go...

I have been g to this store for many years. They have had several Managers who were kind and helpful. I was just in there yesterday and the Manager seemed to be inconvenienced when I asked her if she would find out if they had an item come in. She had every excuse why she couldn't help along with not so nice body language to let me know I was putting her out. I asked her name and she refused to tell me. She also told me I could & not come back since I let her know how she was treating a customer. She proceeded to call another employee to check me out since she was not on the register. Fortunately I got help checking out from a nice young lady and she also lete know the Managers name when I asked, it is Jessica. On my way out, I heard Jessica tell the nice girl who checked me out that she should never give out the Manager's name. Very rude, Jessica is. I liked the gentleman who was the previous Manager, too bad he wasn't there. I used to like how helpful he was no matter what...

It was a strange and awkward experience here recently... I was trying to buy some T-shirts and an employee said that they weren't ringing up as the sale price because the sale didn't apply to that brand.. but there were sale stickers all over the shelf for them. Apparently the sale price doesn't show until you press a button to check out. There was a supervisor having a heated argument with an employee near the checkout, instead of in the back room. It sounded like a customer got told off for being rude, and maybe that customer deserved it. I wasn't there to see the actual conflict, but the supervisor was wrong about one thing that she did say. "The customer is always right." No... Lol. People don't get paid enough in retail to deal with bullies who want to be jerks. Sometimes people need to be told off when they have bad behavior. But I guess I'm getting off topic. Not sure if I want to shop here...
