After closing The Coffee Station on Main Street almost a decade ago, the Plazak family is back again with this hidden gem sandwich shop in Cary. I've had nothing but positive experiences at Breaking Bread since they opened. Although the place is small on the outside, the seating inside isn't cramped. The atmosphere is inviting and charming, with local historic decor lining the wall. The music they play is a great selection for a family run business, nothing too commercial. Yesterday I ordered a rueben I was let down unfortunately. The corn beef was tough hard to chew, the sauerkra ut was very sweet or the sauce I couldn't figure it out but I was unpleasantly overwhelmed with sweetness. so I decided to give them another try today, they definitely redeemed themselves. I ordered mozzarella sticks and customized my fried chicken & bacon sandwich, the portion was great for the price I couldn't finish my sandwich. The chicken (fried patty) was juicy bacon was cooked just right the pepperoncini feta spread is what brought the sandwhich together I recommend asking for extra spread. This is our second time ordering. Our sandwiches were not as described on the menu. I got the Italian salami sandwich and it was very bland and dry. It didn't come with basil as described but I had some at home. I requested no balsamic as I add it at home. The lettuce was very brown. The bread was tasteless. I ended up just remaking it I to something at home. My husband's Reuben dog said it would come on a pretzel hoagie, but it was just a hot dog bun. But it was still fine. Daughters tenders were a bit under done. I put them in the air fryer for a bit. Burger looked decent. Fries and sweet potatoe fries were great. I have COVID so didn't want to cook but ended up having to cook and heat up anyways. I think we just haven't found the right thing...
