Love the sushi but their menu prices are NOT what they charge you. A few of us ordered hibachi filet which the menu states is 24.95 but we were actually charged 26.95. When we asked about the discrepancy they said they adjusted their prices and would not honor their menu price. They also went on to say they've received many complaints yet have not rectified the situation. I love this place and eat here quite often but after this i may reconsider coming here. If you do I recommend you ask the actual prices as they are apparently setting arbitrary prices for menu items now.
In response to the company reply. You do not just set prices higher than the menu without notifying the customer in some manner. Even a sign at the door or a sticker on menu that says menu prices are not correct would do it but when I see a price on a menu I assumed that is the price.. No business advertises an item at a price and then charges you some arbitrary undocumented price. Next thing your menu will say $5 for the beer we got but you'll charge us $40 and say we must pay it? It doesn't work that way and as your employee says many people have complained for a reason. We come there quite a bit but are now reconsidering due to this unethical business practice. Unfortunately for your employee they received a reduced tip to compensate for this little bit of undocumented price manipulation you guys pulled
Bad update 5/15/22 So I went back today and NOT ONE thing on item is correct. They did not mention this, I had to ask. Every single thing on the menu is at least 30% higher than menu prices. They should mention this when they hand you a menu. All you can eat sushi went up from 21.99 to 29.99 over the last week also. Looks like I'll be looking for an new sushi place sadly. Not sure what was going on in their heads today but we were the only people in there today and no take out orders were coming out either. 5 of us were sat down and a server didn't come by for at least 10 minutes.
He finally came by and took our orders. Most of us got our food in a timely manner (With the exception of my all you can eat order of sushi). 10 minutes later another couple comes in. 20 minutes later they get their food but my sushi is nowhere to be seen. They were just standing there at this point. We went to the server and asked where mine was and they said it was right there on the counter! Turns out they were waiting for one of my other rolls to finish (It had to be fried) before the other rolls came out. Why in gods name not walk 2 of the 3 finished rolls over to the table so I can eat w/ my table? Needless to say they were long done before I even started and it was very disappointed.
I asked why this wasn't just brought to me when done and bring the other by when it was done which would seem logical to most. They apologized and later brought me a drink. Problem is, I wasn't drinking alcohol so that did me no good. A reduction in bill, or better yet charging me the rate for all you can eat sushi from a week ago rather than the 36% inflated price this week would have...
Read moreRegrettable. Hopefully these are start up issues, and they will improve. We arrived and were promptly seated. We ordered tea, and it came quickly with some edamame. Important to note that it was cold out, in the single digits. Coming in from the cold, we did not remove our coats right away. Then we noticed that there were people eating still wearing their coats... and some wearing hats! Sure enough, the heating was not functioning properly. Had we realized this fact before ordering, we would have never stayed (which some later, more aware, patrons did -they bailed immediately). I walked over to the thermostat, and it was 52 degrees. The waitress confirmed there was an issue with the heat when we asked, but no warning or accommodation. On to the meal. The tea we got was not particularly hot.... barely warm. I guessed that maybe it had been sitting out a bit. We drank that tea, and when the second pot arrived, it was lukewarm as well. I rejected that one and they actually brought hot tea the third time. I ordered a sushi platter. I saw it ready, and placed on the counter... where it sat, and sat. Curious other patrons would come and look over my food on their way to the rest rooms..... ugh. The rest of my group ordered Chinese/teriyaki meals. My wife's meal arrived, and they mercifully brought my sushi over. We noticed that the table next to us had been served in a very parsed out time frame, so we started eating. -- Remember, this was a 52 degree room, it wasn't going to stay warm very long. The last meal was brought out -- no exaggeration-- 15 minutes after the first. Some were done eating before others were served. Great experience. The food itself was fine (the only reason for two stars), the room, serving timing, etc. were extremely disappointing. I was glad to see a sushi place so close to home. However, with the totally acceptable Kumi Sushi only a few minutes away, and always very good Kyoto about 10 minutes away, this place will not be revisited. I'm sure the heat issues will be resolved. But if the indifference to customer experience is not fixed, that little octopus will not...
Read moreMy wife, son and I went there tonight. We really wanted to like this place as there aren't a lot of quality Sushi places around us. When we arrived, we noticed all the customers were still bundled up. I didn't think much about it but soon realized it was uncomfortably cold inside. I mentioned it to our server and she just grunted. Food was above average... we ordered some Firecracker Roll or something like that because our server suggested it... they brought it out placed it in front of me and without warning pulled out a blow torch and lit it up. Would of been nice for the server to let us know what she was doing?! If you are going to light up a dish filled with alcohol, you might want to warn people. Especially with a child at the table? Then she just turns and walks away... our dish was still on fire and we had ZERO idea if we were supposed to let it continue to burn? Eat it? Blow it out? No idea... it burned for about two minutes... so we just let it burn off and then ate it. It was good... but so strange how little instruction they gave.
As dinner progressed we became more and more cold and didn't stay for desert because we just wanted to get warm. When we left I checked the thermostat right by the door and it said 64 degrees. Sorry... that is just not an acceptable temperature for a restaurant. I doubt...
