Extra Space Storage — Local services in Castroville

Maria was extra helpful and personable. As a customer we usually find that in business transactions that it's about making the sale and fail to connect on a personal level with the consumer. That was not the case with Maria. She shared things about her children that she didn't have to share but I appreciate it because it helps you feel more comfortable. She provided superior service and I am happy I chose to store my items with them.

It's almost spring break and we are moving into a new apartment. I knew I wasn't going to have room for all my stuff so what better place to come to but Extra Space Storage. I rented from here in the summer to store my school things and here I am again to store again. Maria helped me last time. This time Nick gave great service and understood that I was a returning customer and didn't take me through all of the already knowns. I highly reccomend this location. It always makes me feel like my belongings are secure.

DO NOT RENT HERE. NO A/C!!! Use to love Extra Space as their staff was kind, facilities were clean and no other issues were present. It’s been MONTHS now that the air conditioning has not been working and the access gate has been wide open 24/7 from time to time allowing anyone to access the building. Normally the gate access wouldn’t bother me as much except for the fact that the doors to the actual facility don’t get closed all the way and some people prop them open allowing anyone to walk right in. The BIGGEST issue has been the air conditioning and the absolute disregard of the company in getting it fixed. Extra Space will not do anything to credit you as you’re paying for a climate controlled unit, they just say they working on it. It’s been far too long to have our belongings in a unit that is usually hotter inside than it has been outside. Had I known our location is not a “corporate” location and is owned by a third party I would have NEVER rented from this location. So I urge you to ask if your location is corporate before signing since I was told that if our location was corporate, the a/c issue would’ve been...

This was the worst decision to store my household goods here! They raised the rates and can’t send an email notifying us. They claim they sent it to my home address. I am in the process of finding a new home in Texas and have not found a place. I even have my mail forwarded! But yet they can’t use email to notify me of a significant rate increase?!! Then I ask to get refunded so I can move to a different place and they won’t do it! Do not rent from here! Shady and no communication. I’m not moving my HHG to a much more affordable and nicer location. Last time I use Extra Space. Definitely not military friendly!

Update. I disputed the charge with my credit card company for the difference and a very rude person called me to collect $39. I rented a Uhaul to move my stuff out and they blocked me from entering. Wasted additional money to move whe. I couldn’t gain access. This place is awful and their business practices do nothing to...
