My recent lunch experience at Sukhothai in Alamo Ranch presented a vivid tapestry of contrasts. On the culinary front, the restaurant serves as a testament to the rich and vibrant flavors that Thai cuisine has to offer. The affordability of the meals was an immediate plus, setting a positive tone as we perused the menu.
We began our gastronomic journey with the potstickers and cheese rolls, both of which were served fresh, hot, and were unequivocally delicious. These appetizers hinted at the culinary expertise lying within the kitchen’s walls. The main course further cemented our appreciation, with the Thai fried rice with chicken hitting all the right notes of flavor and spice at a level marked ‘Hot’. It was a symphony of taste that was both exhilarating and comforting. The sesame chicken, with its perfect blend of crispy texture and saucy goodness, was another highlight that deserves praise.
However, the dining experience took a turn upon observing the restaurant’s interior conditions. Despite the relatively small and uncrowded space, cleanliness was noticeably neglected. Tables remained unbussed, coated in remnants of previous diners’ meals, and the floors were in dire need of attention. Moreover, the staff’s nonchalant attitude towards maintaining the establishment’s cleanliness, particularly a front-of-house worker who alternated between taking orders and personal leisure activities, was disheartening. It was evident that much could be done to enhance the ambiance and overall dining experience.
Despite these shortcomings, the culinary delights provided a compelling reason to overlook the less savory aspects of the environment. I must give special mention to the sweet sticky rice with mango dessert - a dish that not only tantalized the taste buds but also delighted the senses with its unique blue-colored rice, making it my favorite rendition of the dessert I’ve encountered anywhere.
In conclusion, Sukhothai in Alamo Ranch offers a culinary experience that can be described as a diamond in the rough. While the food stands out for its quality and flavor, the dining environment leaves much to be desired. A little attention to detail and cleanliness could transform this establishment into a gem worthy of its...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting your incredible establishment and I am compelled to reach out and express my utmost satisfaction with the dining experience I had.
Allow me to begin by saying, "Wow!" Your Thai cuisine truly left an indelible impression on my taste buds. In fact, it was the best Thai food I have had in years! Every dish I tried was bursting with flavors that transported me straight to the heart of Thailand.
One dish that stood out for me was the Thai Fried Rice with Crispy Pork. The combination of tender and crunchy textures, complemented by the added shrimp, created a harmonious symphony of tastes that had me craving for more. It was an explosion of flavors with every bite!
To accompany my incredible meal, I indulged in a cup of your delightful Thai Tea. Its unique blend of aromatic spices and refreshing sweetness was the perfect companion to my culinary journey. I highly recommend it to all who visit your establishment.
Now, let me talk about the highlight of my evening - the Fried Bananas. Though typically served as a dessert, I took the liberty of enjoying them as part of my main course to strike a balance between the spicy flavors and the crispy, juicy goodness of the fried bananas. It was a sensational and unexpected delight.
I want to take a moment to express my excitement about discovering new businesses in our community, especially Food that offers such extraordinary culinary experiences. I have no doubt that your passion, dedication, and attention to detail will pave the way for your resounding success.

Read moreIf you are looking for an authentic Thai food this is not the place for you. And if you like your food spicy they use sriracha chili sauce not a fresh or dried chili pepper like other Thai restaurants usually use. I ordered chicken drunken noodles (mild spicy) and chicken pad thai (not spicy) for Take Out. Both only contained like 6 thin slices of chicken meat. My drunken noodles color was red orange and I could smell the sriracha when I opened the container. I called to complain and the lady was nice to make me a new one and this time I want it not spicy. I brought back the food and the new one I got had a very mild spicy flavor. The incovenience of driving back and forth was annoying. And when I got back home the food tasted like lot of sodium. I just ate a little bit ‘coz I already lost my appetite. It was very disappointing. I wish I just drove to my Thai friend’s restaurant (30mins away). But I was lazy to drive through the traffic during rush hour.
Update: Hello! Owner, I forgot to mention this was my second visit in your restaurant. My husband and I were disappointed at our first visit. I just gave your place a second chance yesterday hoping it will be good this time but unfortunately it was not. Of course, I don’t have knowledge of Thai food. I only visited Thailand so many times, I have relatives that live there and majority of my friends are Thai. I know sriracha sauce or crushed red chili pepper are used in drunken noodles. Just pay attention to your customers request. I ordered mild spicy not medium spicy which was given to me. My taste buds know the difference of good food and very salty food. After reading your response I will definitely take my taste buds and...
