ALDI’S Grocery Store located on Commercial Drive in the town of Lowell, IN is a mainstay of our community. I am a fan because of fair prices and good selection. It has become increasingly popular in our economy and many count on stretching their earnings. You will find carts outside to secure for use, bring a quarter to unlock your cart with key. It will be returned when you bring the cart back. Once inside you will find an array of vegetables, bagged mixes, packaged breads & bakery items. Along the back of the store is milk, dairy, eggs, Trader Joe typed dips & cheeses. Many compare Aldi to Trader Joe for its novelty choices. I find you can locate everything you need as any grocery chain store. There are name brands available but mostly Aldi will carry its own brands. I especially am fond of the middle isles known as the “Aldi’s Isle of Shame”. I am not sure why it’s known as that but here you find an eclectic mix of clothing, home goods, toys anything goes. It’s always different & equally fun. (Lots of dupes can be found here). Moving on … canned goods, cleaning products, dog treats, nuts, meats, poultry, wine, pop, bottled water & frozen desserts on the other end of store. Aldi’s is ample in size, clean and usually not very crowded especially during the week. Bring your own bags and or boxes as they are not supplied by the store. I find a big freezer bag to be helpful for meats, frozen foods and ice cream. You can self check out by scanning your purchases at several check points or there is an end check out with a real-person. I find it pleasurable to shop here. You can stretch your dollar to many with food choices that are good for you and often become a favorite! I am not affiliated with Aldi’s Store or any of its employees. Read moreI am a steak lover and, I actually prefer the steaks here as opposed to the other grocery stores around. Nothing beats fresh from the butcher but, the steaks here are reasonably priced, good size and, they cook well staying really juicy. The rest of the food here is not bad either the prices are usually lower here, not always but, usually. The only real downside which I see with the store is alot of the items are for limited time only so if you really like something or if you're like me your kids really like something it may not be around for a long time. One thing that alot of people are unaware of though, is that only the staple items are the same in all the stores alot of the other items vary from store to store. We have a few things that we really like that this one no longer carries but, is available in the Saint John store. So if you really miss something it could be worth your while to check some of the other stores around. I think that there's around five or six other stores within twenty minutes...
Read moreCant help to speak on a situation I witnessed while with my children yesterday. Some grown man pushed this women twice. Antagonizing her with aggressive and abusive words. Once she defended herself she was put out and the guy wasnt. Very disturbing not to mention the woman was black and they guy was white. Along with the other employees race. I felt bad so I had to speak my peace on it. If one left they both should have. No I'm not a racist I'm a white guy as well but I feel bad to have witnessed the wrongfulness of the situation. It could have totally been handled better. Noone even called the police but yet the employee threaten the girl to call the police if she didn't...
