Mexico Lindo Mexican Restaurant Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Cedar Creek Township

We have been long time customers of Mexico Lindo, having frequented their portage location. We we thrilled to hear of the Lowell opening, as it is much closer for us. They started out fabulous, just like what we were used to at the portage location. I always get the same thing because it is so good. About a month ago, husband and I went and I ordered the same dish I always get (tender skirt steak smothered in peppers/onions and queso). Only this time, the steak came out a different cut, color, texture, and taste. It was an extremely tough piece of fatty beef. Not steak! When asked to return for what I normally get, I was told that it is infact what they always serve. (Absolutely not) So when I asked to send it back for something else, the rude waiter said "that's fine but you're still going to pay for this, because there is nothing wrong with your food". Appalled, I asked for the manager... After the waiter then told me there was no manager on duty, a manager did infact come over, and explained that they are now using a different meat in back. She then asked if I'd like it made with the "other steak" and I said yes. Only then, was brought out correctly. I went again tonight , only to have the same problem with fajitas. I ordered the combo, same gross beef came out. My parents ordered carnitas, which they always love. Today they came out covered in fat, and a different cut than they normally are...So much fat that, they too, were highly dissapointed. We feel like they used the good meats to get people in, then once they got established, they cut back and aren't buying quality product anymore. There have been a couple other incidents as well, but why bother mentioning. Sad, we will never go back. Also, they add 3% to your bill if you use a debit/credit card, and also hold all staffs tips till the end...

I usually don't add my opinion or criticism, Everyone has the right to choose for themselves. The wife and I where kind of regular customers, we would at least eat here a couple times a month. Always at least $80 plus $20 for tip, So I was kind of surprised when I asked to speak to the manager about the dish I normally have that's has been stuffed with steak now is being all vegetables and some cheese, when normally it's a dish I take home. I thought I was going to just make him aware of the dish the cook sent out, I felt like a fool after waiting for him for 20min with the plate to show him and after I was told he would come by. Eventually I started to realize he already knew he shorting people and didn't want to hear from another customer. Needless to say, I have never felt that cheated out of something and disrespected as consumer as I felt driving home. So for what ever it's worth, You at least now you know how this restaurant treats it's customers. They have no problem with taking your money and running to hide in the corner until you walk out, I will never spend my money at this place because of their business practices. Subpar service means Subpar ingredients. To the manager, there is no need to respond, you have already done enough deceiving locals. This customer doesn't need your sorry now, you could have said...

MEXICO LINDO located in the small town of Lowell, IN on Commercial Ave., is a hidden gem. An authentic style Mexican restaurant with feel good vibes all around. The restaurant cleanliness factor rates very good. I have yet to arrive & see undone or dirty tables. I cannot comment on the kitchen itself although a lot can be said from the dining area. The staff is very accommodating, friendly & quick to bring chip and salsa to the table. You are not left waiting to be noticed or place your order. The food is excellent & prepared timely. I love the whole-made guacamole .. some of the best I have tried. I usually order the chicken & steak tacos which are made to order, satisfying & plentiful. Recently I ordered the Chimichanga Cheesecake dessert which did not disappoint. Price point is comparable to other similar venues with good food for your dollar. All in all this restaurant is a win win .. the decor is colorful and matches the authenticity of its cuisine. I do recommend this restaurant for parties, family gatherings or simply a night out...
