BUYER BEWARE!!! I reached out to Jo Ann looking to get on the list for one of the kittens, she seemed nice enough on our initial contact, not overly helpful, but nice enough. On August 1st she reached out to let me know that she had a kitten available and wanted to confirm my interest. We agreed that I could mail her a bank certified check for the deposit (this was on Saturday). The following Tuesday, I went to the bank & got the check then went to the post office and mailed it certified mail. I texted her the tracking # for the check & this is basically where it all started to go downhill. A week later she started texting me & got nasty with me that the money still hadn't gotten there & the tracking wasn't updating. I reminded her that we're in the middle of a pandemic which is overwhelming the post office & she just didn't care. She was rude & nasty to me & asked me if I even wanted the kitten. I had done every single thing she wanted me to do, from the ridiculous request of being seen by a vet within 3 days & if my current vet couldn't see her to just go somewhere else, to going out in a tropical storm to send the deposit, & spending hundreds of dollars at the pet store. Needless to say I was more than peeved & by the way the check showed up the next day. I picked the kitten up on the 15th (also since I didn't state this earlier I live in CT which is more than a 2 hour drive) I had a 10 am pick up time & when I got there we chatted for a few minutes & Jo Ann seemed much more pleasant in person so I thought that maybe I was interpreting her tone incorrectly since we were texting & I had changed my mind about writing a negative review, I just wasn't going to write one at all because the only positive I had at this point was a cute kitten. But then I take her to her vet appointment later that afternoon & the vet diagnosed her with conjunctivitis & I started to fume because Jo Ann knew I have an elderly exotic in my house and thank goodness I was already planning on quarantining the kitten. When I asked Jo Ann if the kitten had this infection prior to me picking her up she lied to me & said no & that maybe the kitten got urine in her eye on the drive home but #1 the kitten didn't pee on the way home & #2 the vet laughed at me when I mentioned that & said that was impossible & that she definitely had this infection for a bit. Then 2 days later my kitten had pooped and there was a tiny speck of blood. I didn't panic at that point because it was such a small amount that maybe she was just a little constipated after going through all the trauma of going from the breeder's house to mine but then she pooped again at 10 pm that night & there was a lot of blood. I immediately started to google and I text Jo Ann. She was such a jerk to me & quite frankly, very unprofessional. All she cared about was her 3 day policy. It didn't matter if my kitten died right there on the spot, she got her $2,000 & nothing else mattered. I even tried calling her but she sent me to voicemail and then said she was on the phone but proceeded to text with me for the next 30 minutes. She tried again blaming me & was just so rude and I was honestly shocked by her attitude towards the whole thing. Over the course of the next 1 1/2 weeks I've spent an additional $1,000 to figure out what was wrong with her because the vet had to run all kinds of tests, an x-ray, special wet food, and antibiotics. Not only did she have blood in her stool but she also developed diarrhea and several bouts of extreme lethargy which prompted an emergency vet visit. She was finally diagnosed with enteritis (inflammation in the intestine) & the vet said that there was probably something going on in Jo Ann's house and that more than likely all the kittens had this going on. My sweet little girl is finally starting to do better but in hindsight, I would not have purchased the kitten if I'd have known all of this & I should have gone with my gut instinct after all the drama with the check. I honestly would not recommend purchasing from this breeder. Find...
Read moreJo Ann is an EXCELLENT and knowledgeable breeder. From the first email response I got when initially inquiring for a kitten all the way until post-pickup date (now) she has been nothing but kind, quick to respond, helpful, and most importantly an honest person! My husband and I were on as the VIP customer for the litter and the day after the kittens were born from her July litter she called me, followed by a lengthy text with all the information and breakdown of what to expect over the next several weeks. I couldn’t wait to receive the photos of our kitten every Friday, along with a wellness/progress update! We were able to see our kitten on the date we were scheduled to drop off the deposit and go over some paperwork. He was exactly as pictured and so much more!!! We picked up our little Persian (Himalayan) kitten just 5 days ago and are already so in love with our baby!!! He was cleared by the vet with excellent health. He’s adjusting well to his new home, started to eat and use the litter box after a few hours of being here, and he is doing well being around his big brother, aka our 4 y/o beagle! For now when we aren’t home we will put him in a large playpen with his litter box, food/water, bed, and some safe toys for him to feel safe and for peace of mind. He’s playful, cuddly, sweet, smart, and not to mention the most strikingly beautiful kitten I’ve ever seen. All of my friends and family cannot believe how cute he is! And those blue eyes…. to die for. Also, Jo Ann always replies whenever I have any questions or need a helpful tip regarding the kitten. I highly recommend Jo Ann of Khloe’s Kittens if you’re looking for an excellent, professional, reputable, high quality breeder who genuinely loves what she does and puts her whole heart into these kittens/cats. You can truly tell that cats are her passion! She’s the nicest person ever. Don’t look any further, she is the best in the area! ps: we love...
Read moreNot sharing genetic information about the cat’s history. My Meeko died yesterday due to HCM. The veterinary stated it’s normal in the breed. After paying 4000.00 for Meeko and he was only 2.5 years old. He lived the best life a kitten could have asked for. We had problems with his respiratory system from the day we picked him up. Day 2 we were in the ER for him being underweight and could barely breathe. He was given antibiotics and we had to bottle feed him since he was so young. Then we went to have him neutered he had his scrotums in his stomach which caused us 1000’s of dollars to have that procedure performed on top of the neutering. It’s just been problem after problem since we got Meeko in April 2022 but we loved him so much and was we were not giving Joann is extremely nice and professional . I just think that checkups should come with the price and all customers should be aware of the complications that may arise from this breed like HCM, Heart murmur, etc. I’m only leaving this comment to bring awareness to all buyers please request checkups prior to picking up. My Meeko was my world. And my heart was shattered yesterday. I spent over 12,000 trying to save him but HCM won a couple days later while recovering in the animal hospital. I never...
