[Update] When I firstly wrote this review in 2021, I mentioned that AFO refused to replace the dining table that I bought in 2020. However, after some more follow-ups, AFO finally went ahead and ordered a replacement. Due to the logistics issues during Covid, I just received the new dining table in Sept 2022, but I appreciate AFO's relentless efforts to get me the replacement even after almost 2 years. I think it shows the owner of AFO does care about customers. Therefore, I've decided to update my rating to 4.
[Original Review] I really wanted to give AFO a good review but my experience with this company was not that ideal. Let me start from the good one: their furniture prices were good - almost the same as the prices you could see online - and the owner was nice when I visited the store. However, after I placed the order on Nov 10, 2020, that was the time when I started to get the bad experience.
Long delivery time: Initially I was told the wait time would be 8 weeks. But the reality is that I received about half of my order on Jan 23 (10 weeks alter) and the other half on Mar 27 (19 weeks later!!).
Many defective-on-arrival: The king bed, the queen bed, the bookshelf, the desk, and the dining table all came with some defects. But I want to point out I believe most defects were not caused by AFO, but by the manufacturers.
Painful to get the defective furniture replaced or compensated: Although the defectives were caused by the manufacturers, AFO as a retailer actually bears the responsibility to fix them. BUT It took me a lot of follow-ups to ask AFO to fix the defects for the king bed, queen bed, and the desk. (I didn't ask to fix the bookshelf, because the defect was small.) The worst one is the dining table -- the latch for the table leaf was broken, and AFO came here to try to fix it on May 3rd, but the fix actually made the leaf splitting. Initially they told me they would order a new dining table as the replacement because they couldn't fix the latch, but at the end, there was no replacement, there was no credit. On June 9th, they told me the issue was on the back side of the dining table, and nobody would see it, so they would not replace it! After that, I sent 3 more emails to try to see if AFO would offer any solutions: either a replacement or a credit. But I haven't received any response since then.
I couldn't believe they would tell me they would not fix the issue or provide any credits because nobody would see it. I paid the full price to buy new furniture, not defected or used furniture. I even told AFO I would be happy to be their witness to prove the dining table arrived with a defect if AFO reached out to the manufacturer for a replacement or a credit. But AFO seems to decide to ignore my complaint and suggestion. I am very disappointed by their customer service and I would strongly suggest my friends to stay away from AFO unless this issue...
Read moreI went in to purchase a entertainment stand and after looking at the ones in the store I decided on one that I liked. The guy working the front, Carlos, told me he couldn't sell me the floor model because he wanted to have it there for others to see in case they wanted to buy one too. So he had to order me one. A week later the package arrived and I went to pick it up. I chose to assemble it myself at home, but they do assemble things for you for no fee. The furniture is actually some cheap piece from china, which you can order online from many other suppliers for the same price. The piece I got was damaged and I wanted it replaced. I called back and was told they would order me another one and it would be ready next week. So I waited and after not getting any calls back, I called them on a Friday and spoke to a woman who said the new item was in stock but not assembled yet so she would put it on their to-do list and call me tomorrow when it was ready. I never got any calls over the weekend to be told it was ready. So I called the following week and spoke to Carlos, he said they could have it for me on Saturday by noon. So I went to pick it up on saturday and drop off the damaged one. When I get there I was told he placed it up front for others to see in case they wanted to buy it. Which was strange because there should of been a floor model there for others to see(the one he didn't sell me the first time). I said fine, and just wanted to get my stand and go. So I exchanged for the "new" one, and after inspecting it, it was obvious that this one was the floor model unit that had been there all along. The inner shelves were covered in dust, which they tried to wipe off, and the top was freshly sprayed with a cleaner and wiped off. At this point I didn't care and just wanted to get it back home because it was in better condition than the other one. So be careful, they will lie and do anything to try and get you to buy something. And if you order something, be sure to call and check up on it because they may "forget"...
Read moreWe had an absolutely amazing experience with ACD! From the very first moment we walked in the door they were awesome! No "pushy-salesman" gimmick; they said hello, gave a few super helpful suggestions, and then let us browse around on our own. When we found a piece we loved, they were great at answering all our questions. We decided to purchase and learned they could deliver the next day (less than 24 hours!) at a SUPER affordable price (way less than renting a truck or trailer and way worth it for me and my husband not to have to do it ourselves (and to avoid the argument that would have inevitably followed us attempting to maneuver a couch through the doorway haha)). I later searched online to see how much our couch retails for and it was +$400! Both the retailer and ACD offer the exact same, NEW couch; the only difference is the price/markup percentage. ACD delivered today and were incredibly efficient, friendly, and professional. They called to let me know when they were on their way and it was right in line with what had been scheduled at the store...no 4-8 hour window, it was "we'll be there at 12 noon" at the store during purchase and on the day of delivery. So impressed! Pricing, product, selection and service are all top notch! We just moved and have a whole house to furnish...I have no doubt we will be back....
