I am not sure what happened to the food and services here. It was very disappointing. The first time I came here the food was impeccable. The puffy tacos were flavorful and had great texture. This time I brought my friend here and the experience was a complete 180. The puffy tacos I was served were hard like a brick and very oily. Almost Inedible. Barely much chicken in there. That’s not how puffy tacos are supposed to be.
I talked to a couple servers about the issue. They were very dismissive and said “the chef said that is how it should be. Nothing can be done about it. If you want something else, you’d have to order”. Absolutely laughable —I wonder if they even tasted the food. They made no effort to re-make it or fix their mistakes whatsoever. I asked if the chef could check the food himself. He said “no, the answer will be the same”. Then followed up with “even if we re-make it, it will be the same. The tortillas are from the same batch”. Never have I ever been to a restaurant where the owner / chef is so unwilling to take feedback from customers, especially the food quality was blatantly inconsistent. Not worth the time to visit a place where you have to deal with rude people and being served...
Read moreBeautiful venue with great food options for adults and kids. Cocktails are on the pricier side and are not much higher than average. Draft selection is limited to what is commonly available around Austin. It’s very family friendly which I love to see. I subtracted a half a star due to it being on the pricier side and SOME of the quality of the food and drinks not being up to the standard for it in my opinion. As an example, an old fashioned made with Evan Williams, bitters which may or may not be house made, orange peel and NO cherry for $12. My dry aged burger was delicious but the kids tenders were so bland (which I know some kids are picky about but let’s make that an option). Finally the coffee. There is absolutely no reason to charge 7/8 dollars for coffee. There is a lot of competition with hundreds of small coffee shops popping up around Austin offering amazing coffee for less money. Overall I think it is an average place to visit with a premium in price due to the venue. Unless other locations are very busy, it is a 50/50 as to whether or not I would come back. I would love to see improvements in menu...
Read moreOur first time here and the food was really good, fresh, and full of flavor. We enjoyed the burger, turkey club, and fries. The chips that came with the chip trio were really greasy and it was really basic for being so pricey. We wished they had more lunch options in the afternoon on weekends though - we went around 2:30pm on Sunday and it was still mostly breakfast food. The ambiance is great with cute decor, and we loved the outdoor setup with the covered patio, TVs, and green space - it’s great for families and very kid-friendly! The service however wasn’t great - everyone seemed kind of grouchy (besides the man in the kitchen, who was really kind when we needed anything). The restrooms were also kind of dirty. We were very excited about Besame ice cream truck opening up here too - such delicious ice cream! We loved the Over the Rainbow flavor. Overall, it was a good experience, but they could still use some improvements. We definitely want to give it another shot so we can try the dinner menu and drinks/coffee. And hoping to have a better service...
