Here’s an actual solid review of this place and not just another 5 star like all the others have given. Im well versed when it comes to food reviews and you expect for the price you pay. This review in no way shape or form is meant to diminish the establishment but more-so as feedback.
Overall this is Sub-par. Theres a lot of aspects to where this place needs to grow but I’d like to start off by saying the staff are great, no issues when it comes to customer service.
The main competitor to this place is Zaviya and Will be, Its great for a group of 2-3 people but any more than that and expect to spend more. Lets start with the food. I ordered the Chicken Dum-Biryani, Chicken Karahi and the Mix Platter consisting of Chicken Tikka, Beef Bihari Boti, and Beef Seekh Kabob. The Chicken Biryani was “Alright”, the rice being used is Sehla so expect the grains to be thicker compared to basmati. Finding a piece of chicken was also a challenge and there wasn’t that much to begin with. You would expect to have a good amount of chicken but instead there was more Potato than actual chicken in it. The Chicken Karahi I have no concerns aside from it being Great. Spot on. Moving onto the Grill Platter and Essentially the “Grilled Items” . For 16 Dollars I would expect a Bigger portion of meat. The Beef Seekh Kabob was small. The Size for the Chicken tikka was also small, Not sure on whether the size is normal but you would expect them to be moderately sized. Maybe if you would buy the Entree version if it with 2 pieces for $14 it would be differently sized. The “Naan” Portion / Order is essentially 1 Naan cut into 4 small pieces. $3 for essentially 1 Naan is what you are paying for. Zaviya takes the cake when it comes to the Naan Size and Portion compared to the price. Portions are a big thing and should be, Resteraunts in Chicago Like Usmania or Sabri Nihari, or Even Agha in Houston have much better to offer and give a bigger portion.
On to the Environment and Miscellaneous things I noticed. The atmosphere is great, space is well utilized. However Cutlery seems second hand and cheap, The Water I was given was Warm and was 100% tap water. The jug and the Cups were plastic, the plates were also Plastic. I personally haven’t been to a dine in Resteraunt where plastic was used. Plates are always Ceramic and Glasses Would be… Glass.
As stated before this place is ideal for Couples or a party of 3. But I would rather go to Zaviya. Thats my Personal Opinion. If you are reading this review and are currently deciding to go here, I would give it a try; but if you are with a larger group of people, Zaviya would be the better option. Hopefully this review not only Provided feedback to the owner, but also to you; the person...

I recently visited this restaurant with my family, and I must say the experience left a very positive impression on all of us. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond in their hospitality. One of the most thoughtful gestures was when they accommodated us with a prayer mat and a quiet corner to pray. That kind of respect and consideration speaks volumes about the environment and the values they uphold. Truly appreciated.
The ambiance of the restaurant is warm, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The decor complete with vibrant umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and soft, lantern-style lighting added a cozy cultural charm. The place was immaculately clean, including the outside area, which is often overlooked by many restaurants.
Seating was another highlight. The chairs were very comfortable, and the layout of the tables gave us ample space, especially as we came with two young kids. It didn't feel cramped at all, and there was enough room to move around without bumping into other diners or furniture.
Now, onto the food. The grilled items weren’t particularly to our taste due to the milder seasoning (as we prefer spicier dishes), the quality of the meat and the way it was grilled were still commendable. We also tried the Pappadi Chaat, which looked great presentation-wise but didn’t quite deliver on bold Desi flavors 😢it felt a bit toned down, likely to appeal to a broader crowd.
That said, the pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portion size, and we left full and satisfied. Despite the minor food critiques, the overall cleanliness, customer service, and family-friendly vibe really made the experience stand out.
I’d gladly come back again, and I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, respectful, and beautifully maintained...
Read moreIt’s hard to review a cuisine that I’ve had so little exposure to, but Tandoor in Cedar Park left a strong impression. If authenticity is any indicator of quality, the fact that we were the only non-brown customers—in a restaurant that was packed by 7 PM on a weekday—is a promising sign.
Tips:
Ask the staff for recommendations; they’re helpful in navigating the menu.
Arrive early, as the restaurant fills up quickly.
The Food:
Mutton Karahi: My personal favorite of the night. It’s not a curry but has a bit of a saucy consistency. The spices were well-balanced, offering a depth of flavor without being overly hot. A must-try for anyone visiting Tandoor.
Biryani with Aloo: The rice was excellent, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. However, the chicken was a tad dry and not as well-spiced as I’d hoped. In this dish, the rice outshined the chicken.
Garlic Naan: A pretty basic naan—not bad, but not particularly impressive. I would’ve preferred more garlic to enhance the flavor.
Beef Nihari: This dish leaned more towards a curry, with a very spicy kick. My wife described it as stew-like, and while flavorful, the heat might be overwhelming for some.
Mixed Grill Platter: This was my least favorite. While the meat’s texture varied, one of the beef pieces had an overly tender, almost paste-like texture, which wasn’t to my taste (nor the rest of our group). The sausage looked a bit too dried out, so I didn’t try it.
Final Thoughts: Overall, Tandoor delivers wonderful flavors and an authentic dining experience. The dishes have a variety of textures and spice levels, so there’s something for everyone. While not every dish was perfect, the highlights like the Mutton Karahi make this a place I’d definitely return to when I’m in the mood for Pakistani cuisine, which shares many similarities with...
