Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Centerville

Very surprised by this store’s coupon acceptance policy in this very small town. Having received a manufacturer coupon from a previous shopping trip to Hy-Vee in this same small town, I wished to use the manufacturer coupon in conjunction with a store coupon towards the purchase of cheese. Cashier refused to take the coupon because it had Hy-Vee’s logo on it. I pointed out to cashier that it clearly said manufacturer coupon that may be redeemed at Hy-Vee, but it was not a Hy-Vee coupon. Cashier stated that coupon could not be accepted because of Hy-Vee logo being present on the manufacturer coupon. I let cashier know I wouldn’t be purchasing the cheese, and requested both my manufacturer and store coupons back, only to be rudely responded to that one coupon not being accepted shouldn’t be enough to make me want to not purchase item from Farewary. While I disagree with the store’s policy on not accepting manufacturer coupons that may contain the logo of another store on it, that alone wouldn’t stop me from shopping at Fareway. The complete lack of respect exhibited by the cashier at the time is the sole factor in my decision to no longer shop at Fareway, not just in Centerville,...

It's the best grocery store in town, you can honestly stop reading here but if you want more detail continue on.

It has a small but good meat section, minus the New York strip, mostly bad cuts with those. They have two amazing ground meat products; the "their own" ground beef which is a mixture of various steak cuts, often good ones, it varies but I've never had a bad batch... Plus they often give you a deal on it, more so when it's later in the day. The other fantastic product is this ground sausage and ham, I think it might make a better hamburger than beef, it gets even better if you mix it with beef!

Employees are always helpful and do a great job, and furthermore the store helps out the local food pantry to get people food they need like bread, milk, and eggs. This is also one of those few old school grocery stores where the bagger will take your groceries out to your car and load your vehicle.

A few of their items are randomly overpriced such as their milk and bread. Also I'd recommend you double check their fairway branded packaged cheese, you might get a moldy batch if you're...

I have never had a bad experience in this store.....until today. I was wanting to get a few lotto tickets and I ask a clerk, her name was Rhonda if I could get them there. She acted as if it was an inconvenience for her. I tried to tell her what I wanted but she just ran the ticket when I was needing it for 3 day draws. She was extremely rude. I went to another retailer to get the rest of my tickets. Never have I ever been treated like that in this store. Everyone else is wonderful but Rhonda shouldn't be working with the public if she can't be kind and helpful to...
