This Games Workshop location has become a regular stop for my teenage son and me, and it’s been nothing but a great experience every time. The free painting lessons offered here are a fantastic way to learn miniature painting. the Manager, Keon, is incredibly patient, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping others get better at the craft. Adam, who also works there, is equally patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about the Warhammer universe. Keon and Adam are both incredibly generous with their time.
The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly, whether you're a seasoned player or completely new to the world of miniatures and tabletop gaming. In fact, if you know nothing about tabletop gaming at all, Adam will teach you literally everything you need to know to play the game! The store is clean, well-stocked, and feels more like a community hub than just a retail space.
One standout moment: while we were in the middle of a lesson, a serious storm started rolling in. The manager, knowing we had a long drive home - over 30 minutes west - generously kept the store open an extra hour so we wouldn’t have to head out into the high winds. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way - it shows that they’re not just running a business; they’re building a community.
The people here truly go above and beyond, and it shows. Highly...
Read moreManager is hit or miss with his attitude. The store selection is mediocre, and the prices are outrageous. Sure, I can order using the kiosk, but I can also do that at home without wasting my time driving in.
Came for the free mini, got yelled at because the mini of the month never arrived and the starter minis are "only for people who are getting started" and assumed I've painted a bunch of Space Marines before. Tried to get them to teach me a game, got told it'd be at least 6 weeks because they were busy launching some game. Like bruh, it doesn't take 6 weeks to teach me a 90-minute game.
Not really sure what the point of this store is when other stores sell Warhammer stuff for cheaper, have a better selection, and have friendlier staff.
They also don't let you bring anything into the store that they don't sell. Those game tables aren't for casual gamers. They are reserved for staff use and the die-hard gamers that frequent the store.
GW makes nice miniatures, but they seem to be pretty terrible at everything aside from making them.
Going to this store feels like walking on eggshells, but the only eggshells allowed cost $60 for 3 and can only be painted...
Read moreThe store itself has a good selection of Warhammer miniatures and paint. My real issue was with the service I received.
When I first went in I did a lap to look around and went up to the front desk where the clerk was sitting. He was painting a miniature and rarely looked up as I talked to him. I mentioned I was new to miniature painting and wanted to get into it. He then proceeded to berate me on my lack of knowledge and experience. When I tried interjecting with a question he would dismissively respond, "watch the Games Workshop painting tutorials on YouTube". Questions he did answer always started off with a nice scoff on how little I knew.
He was extremely rude and unkind to a potential new customer. Regrettably I did buy a can of primer, but I will NEVER do business with this store again. I have to admit, seeing anything with the Games Workshop logo brings back memories of...
