I’ve been a regular of Lowe’s since it bought out BiLo here in Chapin. Despite the significantly higher prices than the grocery store down the street from my house, I drive the extra miles to come here. I have enjoyed shopping a neat store with the option to get ready made dinner, a beer or coffee to shop with, etc - Today, my experience has changed my mind. I decided to have a beer as I shopped, and was given a half cup. Literally. I didn’t say anything, as I was just getting it for myself as a treat. But I was not pleased with paying the full price and getting my cup filled only halfway. I proceeded to shop and needed some help looking for something. I asked one guy and he simply said “I don’t know.”, and went about his business. Two times I patiently waited for employees to finish unloading their carts into the freezers before being willing to let me get the merchandise I needed from said freezers. Then I got to the cash register and proceeded to bag all of my $300 order. Several employees walked by and looked at me. None offered to stop and bag my groceries for me. I don’t mind doing this in a pinch, but I don’t go to the grocery store and pay higher prices to do all the work. Finally, I asked the cashier where they had moved a specific item to that I had looked for (and asked for help looking for), And without missing a beat, he simply said “we’re probably just out of it”. Frustrated, I asked another employee that came walking by. She simply pointed towards the front of the store and said “yes, we have those”. I appreciated that she was willing to go and get them for me so I could check out and leave. But I was apalled at the lack of customer service in the store. For a store like this that costs more and prides itself on amenities for the customer, today’s service was sad and pathetic. I’m not a “Karen” that likes to complain. I’m an upbeat and positive person. Today was a big let down. I’m not willing to spend extra money for poor service. I’d venture to say that others wouldn’t be keen on...
Read moreThere's something wrong {DEFINITELY} with the meat department.. some of your meats look funny there's an odor coming from them and they are not all the same color they don't look fresh like they used to.. like they're supposed to.. another lady and myself were just standing there looking at the meats and we were both saying the same thing and as I was walking away I heard her I guess her husband walked up and I heard her telling him the same thing.. I understand that you're going through a transitional stage from what was a Bi-Lo's and pretty much still is a Bi-Lo's except for that and the part where the floor felt like I was going to fall through the floor on one side as I was going to the back of the store there's a huge piece of floor that's covered with something.. carpet material and I didn't know what was underneath it but it looked like it was a floor so I walked across it and it was moving which kind of freaked me out.. And there is DEFINITELY something wrong with the prices.. Your prices are way too high on your meat.. We cannot afford this right now.. I understand prices are high for you guys as well but we can't afford this.. Most of us don't have the money to afford your high prices.. but I do want to add that the people were nice and friendly.. I'll change my review when I come back the next time and see a difference but other than that it'll...
Read moreThe people that work the store are lovely and nice and I hate to be negative or complain but I probably will stick to Publix from now on. The prices are a little higher than some competitors but i found the convenience of curbside to be worth the price. I find that the store isn't usually busy like others and that may be the reason for the rotting produce (not getting it in and out of the store fast enough) but using Lowes foods to go, more times than I can count, I have received bad food. From Chicken bought the same day with the date good on it, yet could not be cooked due to the rotten egg smell, to shredded parmesan cheese that had mold all in it, fresh cilantro that smelled and was full of black spots, rotten corn multiple times leaving us with not enough for dinner, badly bruised bagged apples that were rotting and strawberries that weren't even worth cutting out the bad spots there were so many... you name it. Lately I've only been comfortable buying prepackaged pantry items and have stuck to a different store so my shopping here has declined these past few weeks. I decided to give it another shot today in a pinch and bought several ears of corn hoping for a better experience and was let down yet again. Very disappointed to say, it was the same. I really hope for better things in the future with this...
