We came on Wonder of the Sea to this port and docked next to an old rust bucket cargo ship. It is one of the worst ports we ever docked at. Price were higher for a taxi than Havensight Cruise Pier a few miles away. Shops had high prices and limited food. Nothing really to do or see. Our last cruise was with Celebrity which docks at Havensight Cruise Pier. At HS, the taxis were less and shopping had lower prices. Also, they had more shopping options and the sky ride. This port was once an old army base and smelled like a sewer. All shops and the store closed once the ship departed so it is just one big tourist trap that opens once a ship docks. I you dock at this port, just take a walk into town and find a lower priced ride for a tour or to were you want to go. I attached the taxi prices for this port and as you can see they are in removable ink so they can adjust higher with number of...
Read moreThis port in St. Thomas was a wonderful port for us on the Disney Fantasy to stop by. It is a port that we are able to walk directly off the ship and no need to tender. The staff working the port are very nice and helpful. The signature is easy to read and follow. Once off the ship there are many shops to enjoy both local items and gifts to bring home to friends and family. You have high end stores all the way to cheaper items but all are great souvenirs. All the shops take both USA dollars and credit cards. Make sure to save some time to do some shopping. Also from the port there are beautiful views of the island and the beach. Explore and walk around to get stunning views of both your cruise ship with the blue ocean or island in the background. So much to explore we cannot wait to be back some day. Cheers onto the...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here with a Royal Caribbean cruise. The port is nice and new, and has the usual cruise port shopping. However, it is also in an industrial area and there is no easy walkable town to visit. My wife uses a power wheelchair, and we felt stuck. Not to be deterred, we went to the very busy taxi stand to see what might be available. We ran into a super nice man named Pete, who showed us his completely accessible van, it had a roll on ramp and a lift, and off we went to historic downtown and shopping! Historic places can be bumpy for a motorized wheelchair, but we got around and had a great time. We made arrangements with Pete to be picked up after an hour, and he showed up right on time. He only wanted six dollars each, each way, a real value. I tipped generously, very glad to...
