After talking about paying them a visit for YEARS - finally stopped in today! Agora Greek Market on Independence. My favorites?
Spanakopita and spinach swirls, olive paste, pita bread - I baked the first two at home, purchased them frozen.
Imported from Greece, very mild flavor, very fresh, spinach, flavor, one of them had a hint of dill. Not salty at all so you could tell it didn’t have all the chemicals in it that food in the United States has.
Lightly baked the pita bread and put the olive paste on it, was excellent.
Not gonna lie. Cured olives are an acquired taste, I think I like Italian ones better, but these are very good as well.
The small baklava? Oh my God! There is so much amazing flavor packed in a little tiny package excellent stuff!
Will come back to this post and review the other items as I open them.
I bought my mother-in-law the imported sardines - she loves sardines! So we’ll see what she thinks of these and let you know.
It was worth the visit, a little side adventure, merry Christmas...

Please do not overlook this market due to the smaller size because you cannot put a price on the kindness and quality this place holds. I Will...
Read moreI love this Greek market and every time I go, it brings me back to my roots. However, I bought this taramosalata from Agora Greek Market in Charlotte, NC on September 1st, 2018 and as I was eating it, I came accross a big piece of plastic inside the container. I consider this extremely dangerous and not hygienic at all. I of course contacted Krinos about it since they are responsible for packaging this product, and sent a message to Agora, so I am hoping that this issue will be addressed sooner than later and that I can remove this review soon. In the meantime, please be careful while eating taramosalata...
