I am a long time loyal Aldi customer. I happily pass other grocers to go to Aldi. Today my husband and I did about $200 of shopping by way of self checkout. I am very disappointed that the security guard literally followed me back and forth as I picked up the scanned items from the waiting bay to our bags on the shelf right next to the register. He was so close to me I almost bumped in to him on more than one occasion. There was another customer having an issue at the register where the employee was, yet he felt the need to publicly say out loud to my husband "You know you need to pay for that first?" We were not even finished scanning our groceries! When have we ever been able to walk out of a store without paying? Why would he feel the need to call us out publicly? Then the overbearing security guard watches us pay and stands in our way to say he needs to check our receipt, which I had in my hand to show, as if he did not hover over every product we purchased. I felt extremely turned off from the whole experience and I was genuinely confused when the cashier at another register was telling us we needed to pay for things we hadn't even finished buying. The nerve! I wish I had the time to leave our entire cart and suspend the transaction to shop at at least 3 grocery store nearby. I even had to stop at one for a name brand Aldi does not carry. I will heavily reconsider shopping that location and perhaps Aldi. I appreciate your value and improvements to carry organic and quality products, however we shop for quality customer service and today Aldi dropped the ball.
The "District Manager" Morgan called to follow up and claimed she did not know the name of the security guard because he's not her employee, but that she talked to him and reviewed the footage with his boss. She also said she did not know the name of the cashier. She claims both are new and have been retrained. She stated the security guard was "... just doing his job to prevent theft during the busy holiday season." That is a load of crock, unless his job is to harass long time customers.
The tone of nonchalance from the corporate customer service rep to the DM has left a very nasty taste in my mouth and I am not convinced that this issue was as serious to Aldi as it was to us. Thank you Aldi for not caring enough to know your employees' names, but more than you care about making sure your customers feel seen and valued.
Good luck securing a store that won't have many customers for long, treating them like bad apples.

Read moreToday at 6:50-7:00 I was in the store and this girl was in the chicken section but the girl had boxes all around and I asked her to please hand me one of the items sense there was nowhere to walk and grab she was in the way and a bunch of Empty boxes I asked her 3 Times !! She ignored me and rolled her eyes and said “you can get it yourself “ and kicked one of the boxes . She was extremely rude and disrespectful as a worker if she don’t want to work she should stay home or not have a job never coming again highly do NOT RECOMMEND coming here she was very unnecessary with a nasty attitude. The cashier as well was rude didn’t even say thank you or hello. Super ghetto and ratchet and this is why businesses lose customers I rather pay more and be treated better then pay less and get disrespected for asking for a EMPLOYEE TO HELP ME Or hand me a product. Especially when she had a dirty messy clutter in the work area and nowhere to walk to get my product and when I ask for her assistance she kicked a box and refused to help she looked young with a small Afro I didn’t get her name but either way she should’ve been helpful at least I mean she is working there not me, I came to purchase food and pay for it not to mention I was never rude or demanding I asked her not once nor twice but 3 times! Just disgusting. Please teach your employees to do better especially in the times we live in now. Everyone has bad days but you should never take it to work with you so many people need jobs she can give it to someone who will appreciate it and treat there customers with respect ! Never again. I left half of my groceries and decided to go to food lion instead. She was lucky I didn’t make a scene or get the manager because I was so tired already and I also work and had a long stressful day I don’t need to go shopping and still be treated poorly over something that is there responsibility as employees I mean like I said I couldn’t even walk over and grab my product she could’ve easily handed it to me and refused to. Very very disrespectful and disappointing. But thanks for showing me that because now I know to never shop there ever again! I hope everyone can read this and go elsewhere for product...
Read moreWe shop at this Aldi most of the time, but tonight the cashier made a mistake, ringed up 7 bags of sugar instead of 3 sugars and 4 flour bags. When I went back to show her, she started doing the refund, but did it wrong again and only told me to pay extra, which I did until I’ve seen what she did again. Never apologized for the first mistake. I told her that she did the return wrong again and showed her on the receipt the difference and explained she charged me $2-3 extra, instead of returning $2-3. I asked for the return receipt, not just the receipt where she charged me extra. She refused to give it to me and told me: “back out and step away from me” I think she did it on purpose, the first and the second time, not by mistake. The security lady came in and I waited for a manager to come and look at this, take my initial receipt and the second one where I was charged extra, go to this cashiers register and print the 3rd receipt that the cashiers refused to provide me, where she returned 2 sugar bags instead of 4, acknowledge her mistake and fix it. While the cashiers had a loud mouth saying that she did nothing wrong and “she’s done w this guy”. While she scans the wrong products that are on her register band, and also makes the return wrong and also refused to provide the receipt for her wrong-doing or apologize at any point during this. Very bad experience from somebody who’s not able to ring the products in front of her, or return 4 sugars and ring back 4 flour bags. I guess basic tasks are too...
