I lost total interest in loran livingston several years back. My wife and I and our children were going through some very hard financial times and we use to attend Central Church of God faithfully twice per week sometimes 3 times per week. We would drive 25 miles one way each time. We would tithe and give offerings to the church and I worked for a ice cream company delivering 5 gal pales of ice cream to restaurants. I purchased 5 gallon pales for Pastor loran and the staff a lot of times and would deliver it to the church kitchen. One month my family and I were having issues paying our electric bill for our house and asked the church if they could help us pay the $100 utility bill. Do you know I was the center of that sermon that Sunday with loran saying to pray to God for the money not ask Central church for help. We were so turned off with that church and quit going there. One of lorans long time deacon told us several times a year they take up 4 offering in one Sunday just for Loran called pastor appreciation day. The decon told us Loran would walk at with close to $200K in one Sunday when they did this for him. Loran told me and my wife he was a rich prince one time. We believe if you have money you are to help the poor and God's Word says this. Loran makes me SICK to my stomach and makes God want to puke. No where in the Bible does it say that a pastor is above everyone and should make big bucks. I am sorry but I have a problem with big money making pastors when many people can't even pay their bills and eat. I still have to Love loran and pray for his selfishness. My children back years ago and myself would notice lorans pride when loran would do that little twitch he does with his head and chest. Pride makes God sick and it makes...
Read moreWe recently visited Central Church and immediately felt the presence of the Lord. We have attended many churches over the years and many are dark and depressing. This is a church full of light and the truth is preached. The pastor truly shepherds and cares for the flock, even if it steps on toes. He doesn't water the message down. He can go deep in his Biblical study, but he also keeps the sermon simple with a relevant life application. The church is a little bit of a drive for us, but it is quality preaching, teaching, worship and fellowship. It is a large congregation so connecting with others will be up to you, but I sense the people are friendly. I love seeing such a diverse group of believers of all ages and ethnicities worshipping together. I read a comment that Pastor Livingston is like a Kenneth Copeland, and I wholeheartedly disagree. In fact, I have heard him preach against the word of faith theology. ...
Read moreIn my twenties, I lost my way due to alcohol and compromising my best interest. When my best friend was killed in an air crash, I felt that all hope was gone. It took sometime to get his body back to the US. During that time his family was devastated and a small group of people began to visit them. They provided food and help everyday for weeks. Many times I was there to see this outpouring of love that I had never witnessed. I soon found these were real Christian people being Jesus to all involved in this tragic situation. It was within days that I knelt beside my bed at home and asked this Jesus to be real to me as well. Now over thirty years have passed and everyday is brighter than the day before. I want to thank the body of believers at Trinity Church of the Nazarene and Central Church of God for helping me to see the real purpose of the death and resurrection of My Saviour, Jesus Christ. ...
