Thai Orchid Restaurant — Restaurant in Charlotte

Had a rough day at work, went home exhausted and didn't feel like cooking dinner so I decided to order some Thai food from Postmates. I ordered the pad Thai and the Mee Krob and waited patiently for it to arrive. By the time it got to my house I was ready, waiting, and STARVING. I was so excited to dig in to my favorite flavors.... I've always loved Thai food for that reason... The tastes and flavors of the genre were always my favorite.

Come to find out, if flavor was what I wanted I ordered from the WRONG restaurant. When I opened up my Pad Thai, it LOOKED appetizing, but was so devoid of flavor, I was only able to eat a few bites of it before I just started picking out the vegetables in hopes of some sort of taste. Having no luck with finding flavor in my entrée, I switched to the mee krob, which looked a little bit like dog food at first, but I was so hungry, I decided to try it anyway (some of the yummiest tasting foods are often the ugliest looking ones...). The only way I was able to choke down one of the mee krob wraps was to drown it in the hot sauce provided with the meal. Even still, halfway through the second wrap, I just couldn't get over the dog food texture and taste and gave up. I threw the food away, kept the lettuce and hot sauce (the only palatable components of the meal), swallowed my pride, accepted my $30 was lost to me forever now, and went to bed still hungry and a little nauseous.

Please think twice about ordering from this establishment, ESPECIALLY if you're a big fan of Thai flavor combinations. This was the worst Thai food experience of my life. I may not even try Thai food again for...

First off, I live in Strawberry Hill apts walking distance from this restaurant. Therefore i want this place to be delicious SO badly, and I would even be ok if the food was average because of the convenience. Sadly, It's not. It's not even average. I ordered the most basic white person meal ever multiple times: Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. It is simply NOT good. I've eaten here 4 times now, and every time I regret it. On a laughable note, the ONLY reason I order is out of desperation because I'm too lazy to drive across town to a competitor that I get by postmates called Aroy Thai which is dramatically better in taste and quality every time. (Postmates gets very expensive) If you are expecting anything better than "Meh" you will be very disappointed. I gave it 3 stars because they are SUPER nice, professional, and FAST, consistently. I live near by so I have had their meals for many times. Initially I felt although their food quality isn't as good as Tai House and the person who pick up the call always sounds rude, it looked like they have done a decent job and they are close by. So I ordered many times. Until one time I was asking for exchange because it contains an ingredient that is not listed on the menu and I am on food restriction about it. They didn't apologize for not making the menu clear and didn't offer making adjustment, they were just very resistant to about it. They gave the exchange at the end. But the food taste very bad because they don't want to make any adjustment. Their attitude is so bad that I just don't feel I want to be treated this way anymore. So I never order from them again.
