We went to their free movie event, and glad it was free cause they charge an arm and a leg for snacks and sodas! The chairs are ancient and super uncomfortable, and sure not designed for a plus size bum. Very little leg room, and not all seats had cup holders, so you're forced to hold your drink through the movie, leaving no free hands for any snacks you were just over charged for. My grand daughter needed to use the restroom...good heavens, there's more room in porta jons than in these horrid, curtain draped toilet areas. No room for anyone who's handicapped!! No room for an adult either; just rediculas!! 1 sink, and 3 areas to go to the bathroom in. No privacy at all really, because of how cramped, if ppl went by, and no 2 ppl could have fit in this are... It pulls the curtain back. The movie they played,(Hop) was on a DVD!! All in all, and as i said in the beginning of this review...thank God the movie itself was free because if you're paying for a movie at this place..ya might feel ya got...
Read moreThis theatre needs so many updates. They have a digital player, which is great, but it's one of the only good things about the theatre itself. The seats are very old and way too close together. I'm 5'6" and can't sit in their seats without my knees digging into the chair in front of me. They also have a lot of seats worn down so far the springs poke you as you try to watch the movie. The bathrooms (ladies room, at least) is laughable. It has a space issue, as well. I hope you like peeing with a curtain on your lap. The stalls don't have doors, but they hung the curtains so close to the toilets that you don't have any space. The lobby is super cramped when buying tickets or concessions. Their most redeeming quality is the price. They only charge $5 a ticket, and even have new release movies. Only 2 every week, though. The tickets and concessions are affordable. So if you're willing to put up with being uncomfortable for and hour an a half, it's a...
Read moreThe Eaton Theatre is an iconic place for me. I've experienced many premiers there. The ambience as changed little since my first memory of the movie going experince as a child. From the creeks of the floor to the smell of thier popcorn, the sheetmetal ceilings and old hardwood hand rails. I compare this experience and its worth to me as a roller coaster enthusiast enjoys the clanking and rattling, and jarring of an old wooden roller coaster. Sure you can go to a franchisee theater with reclining assigned seating, have drinks and food brought to you. But hear at the Eaton Theatre you can choose to experince the movie as you and or I have experienced a movie reminiscent of that child hood first. And like me look forward to exposing my children to the same experiences my parents allowed me to participate in. I thank the owners and all thise that have supported keeping a local jewel like the eaton theatre alive and...
